*this is not an uncommon 'plight', (which was its first title). it speaks for those who know exactly what it says. but this is just an exercise in extempore excision and expurgation of an ignoble affliction...k

"You're pulling away" she cried
Silent in her heartache
Importance put on other things
No time for her, did he take

Always steeped in business deals
How was she to know how he feels
But the world keeps on turning

She sits down by the telephone
Wond'ring, should she call him?
Distraught by just how late it was
Hopes nothing should befall him

They seem to argue more and more
Making love, at best's a chore
But the world keeps on turning

He wanders in at half passed twelve
A little bit disheveled
Claims that he's exhausted
That it left him quite bedeviled

He exits to his own domain
As she retires alone again
But the world keeps on turning

The children grown, she goes to school
She learns the ropes in business
Gets a job from dawn til dark
And tries to manage her stress

He's retired and has more time
But now, the table's turned
And though the world keeps revolving
The bridges have been burned

When you pick up the pen your quills fly on the speed of the sound, your imagination and creative tools follow them.

I am so glad I have lived to witness that you exist.

Long Healthy Life may you enjoy, Author Master Poet Kristian Mahrling.

Krissy, this reminds me of an old song, "The Wheel Of Fortune," I think by Kay Starr. And the world - no matter how many bridges are burned - turns just like the wheel of fortune. Some of us will win and some of us will lose. What is the difference between a winner and a loser? Wish I really knew the answer. I can only speak for myself, and my answer is you need to pick a winner. A person, who is compatible with you. It has to fit. When you have been with someone for a long time,
sometimes parties grow apart and one or both end up with a broken heart. Dear Lady
you are intelligent, clever and have much love to offer the lucky guy who claims you;
whoever he may be. If you are down at the moment, listen to the birds singing. Take a rose and smell its essence. Look at the stars at night and think how wonderful they
are. And whenever chance brings you into contact with a caring soul, grasp the opportunity and just maybe you will find the solution to loneliness and frustration.
You are too nice a Lady to be alone long.
Your good friend Bill Hugs........!!!
