Appointment
By La Belle Rouge

death comes to all men
the appointment with him
is one we can not break
and will those we leave behind
feel the emptiness of heart
will they say ”he loved us”
or simply “we loved him”?

great verse to ponder Belle, my dead beat dad fits right into this, I didn't get my answer about my feelings until he died, as far as him loving me, never got that one, hugs

I loved the beauty and simplicity of this poem. I believe, the testimony to one's life is for people to say he/she loved us which made it so easy to love him/her. If you love, it comes back to you --- karma. Love may or maynot look the way you'd like it, but it does come back to the giver in one form or another.

God bless you. Kathy

... when it all comes down to it, all our lives will be remembered for is love, both given and received. How we share and express such is what connects us one with another. Very thoughtful, Belle. Love the picture you have chosen: the dragonfly is a symbol in North American cultures of new life after a period of hardship, no? Love will always continue to renew us as we move further along the path. Hope you're well, Darlin xx
