“Oh yes, I know what we must fight for but I had hoped it wouldn't come to war. What if devotion to country takes your life? I must struggle as a widowed wife.”
“ My Darling do not think it shall be so, because to a righteous fight I must go. Pray for me and may our God's will be to bring me safely home to thee.”
“ Tis for thee and our babe I go that he may no more tyranny know. Nor bear the heavy burden of a king who wants to take from him everything.”
“A slave to make him to others whims and to cause him to suffer for others sins. So kiss me, Amelia and wave goodbye. I pray thee, do not let me see you cry.”

He had willingly fought and given his life to end the cruel oppression and the strife. For freedom is not free when tyranny reigns and freedom is worth bearing death pangs.
Their baby was born, American and free for the righteous fight was fought to be the beginning of a nation of free men. May tyranny never claim her again.
Freedom is never free, guard it with your life. It takes a righteous stand for liberty's light. Stand for this blood-bought land, for the right even if it takes again, a righteous fight.

Reading this I could so relate. Inmy book Red Soil I told the story of another soldier during WW II who left behind a wife and a little girl to fight in a foreign land for three long years. That mann was my dad...
A period mode for this all too imminent threat the world is faced with is both a romantic and dystopian reminder that personal love, as well as love as a way of being, is needed to even retain a momentary piece of attention from the autocratic and narcissistic erosion we're experiencing today. Kudos for bringing this to your readers.

La Belle, you have such profound compassion, love and pure class on this sad, deeply emotional, somber, gratitude remembrance day. This is so beautiful my treasured friend .. I know they are smiling with Christ at us above with such pride, courage and love.. I so deeply ponder what thoughts they thought at Normandy for the moment the drew the ramp down, and knowing they would never come back, they knew they had to liberate not just families, friends, aquenatances, country but the entire world. The duty was so enormous and never selfish, especially the first 2 hours of conflict of hell on earth.. Thank you dearest friends for your sacrifice, courage and selfless spirit ..
