Love can be the death of you.

I Died last night,
When you held me in your arms and kissed my
neck and sighed... I Died
I Died last night,
When you held me in your arms and whispered
I Love You and I said that's right... I Died
I Died last night,
When you grabbed me by the arms and said
"I Hate You" until I cried... I Died
I Died last night,
When you held me in your arms and apologized,
my Stomach clinched up tight... I Died
I Died last night,
When you took me by the arms and hit me
with all your might... I Died
I Died last night,
When you held me in your arms and stuck the
knife deep in my side... I Died... I Died.
I Died Last Night...

A very painful and insightful write. You express very well the many deaths we feel at the hands of those who are supposed to love and cherish us, but abuse instead. "Love can be the death of you." A powerful sentence. Abuse is not love, abuse is control. Pure and simple. It takes a great deal of courage to write about these things. I commend you. Elizabeth

YOur story lives on, for YOUR heart is STRONG!
I cried when reading this
I cried- YOu touched me deep
I cried- You care and took a leap
I cried- Your writing is most complete...

Your sadness and pain is felt within, I know the feelings once again!

This is painful to read but it does show how powerful are your words, Crissy. You are right. You "died" in those moments. The wonderful thing is that "YOU" will never die as we know it. Thank you for sharing of yourself via your verses. Love and peace to you,

Regis

Welcome to the Den, Crissy. You have painted an abuse far to well to leave anyone indifferent. It is a scourge that we should all fight to eradicate. Great poem. Victor

Crissy,

You are indeed a deep poet. I felt your energy as were dying the various deaths throughout the night. You are very creative! Keep writing!

Crissy,

Very sad indeed but I find a knife can only penetrate to the hilt and only hurts as it's being withdrawn. The words are what causes the damage. Bless You.
