Why does it have the ability To get inside and make one's heart beat, To rise above and conquer defeat, To bring hope and love and peace about, Where devotees write the words and shout, 'What's the big deal about poetry?' ~~~~~ What's the big deal about poetry? All the Poets I know are crazy. They're spilling words all over the page, Ranting in another manic rage, Wondering why their words are not read And together, this is what they said, 'What's the big deal about poetry?' ~~~~~ What's the big deal about poetry? Why does it touch to such a degree, Where souls are changed by series of words, And wonder what it was what they heard In the pattern of meter and rhyme That caused them to wonder one more time, 'What's the big deal about poetry?' ~~~~~ What's the big deal about poetry? What is its special meaning for me? Poetry, as we all know, is a big deal. Great write, Karla!

You have somehow managed to ellucidate that je ne sais quoi, bringing the inexpressible into words - the work of a master poet!! Very well done! If I couden't write, I'd be a real nut case by now (some might argue its too late, heehee), but to not be able to read such fine works such as this...well, that would be a crime. A very good poem, Karla.
I echo my words from yesterday regarding "Musings From My Soul" because they are applicable to this poem as well. Poetry is an excellent way to release inner feelings and, at the same time, share of one's self with others. You have done this very well here, Karla and I can relate. Amour et paix à toi. The big deal is that with a very few words, we paint amazingly detailed portraits. With a very few words, we tell stories that rattle the emotions of our readers. With very few words we reach into our souls and we create magic. With very few words, we breathe life onto a page.
