*Whine alert* This is what I've been going through lately. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

It isn't easy
living the curse'd life of a Poet -
There are rare mornings
when the words are eager to get started -
that wake up wide eyed
and excited to jump onto the page -
And there are those days
(which are happening with more frequency)
I have to drag them
out of bed - kicking - biting - and screaming
to be left alone -
They want to remain under the covers
of shaded darkness
wanting to hide in anonymity
fearful of letting
themselves be spotted by millions and
millions of eyes -
because they are not ready to be seen
until THEY'RE ready
to make their grand apprearance to the world
(primped - made up - and not a hair out of place
lookin' GOOD baby!) -
And I - the Poet - never know what kind
of day that I'll have -
I won't know until I pick up my pen -
And that's why I say
I wouldn't choose this life for anyone -
Being the mother
of a bunch of words springin' attitudes -
It isn't easy
living the curse'd life of a Poet.
