i hold in my hands a cruise line brochure : it tells me to pull the anchor from the dull life i have, telling the adventurer within me to sail away . i have to get rid of the sea monster that lives in the place i once did ... and so i make the call ... and i am leaving tomorrow to find myself again . hopefully, the turquoise complexities of the seven seas will soothe the furious beast inside that is eroding the beach of my soul and bring me peace.
Cruises are so much fun and take you away. They do bring Peace, and everyone on a cruise is like one happy family, no fighting, no arguing, everthing peaceful and treatment you get, OH, so kind and of being so pampered I can remember. Met an 80 year old lady and went into the swimming pool with her. Met a young girl who was sea sick and went in the jacuzzi with herand mother. Friends I made the world over. Even a young college man talked to me in the pool which does not happen at home much in pools. Great cruising to you in the future too.
Damn... server went down again!! I know that you are well-able to reproduce in your own heart and soul whatever magic a Carnival Cruise could otherwise create for you, Karla - nice as they might be!! Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
Great write, Karla.
