tiny impossibly small
we were born much too early
doctors said we would not live
God gave us mercy

kept each other company
all through the growing up years
sticking up for each other
or taking the blame

we were inseperable
even through our rare fights we
could not stand to be apart
always together

then we were separated

i went my way she went hers
nearly twenty years went by
we'd write we'd call not the same
as being together

enough was enough no more
reunited three years past
we are together again
each other's shadow

the way it should always be.
