May not see me over the next couple of days, as more bad weather is due in here later today through Saturday (at the earliest). Keep Karen and I in prayer--we need it.
What makes it worse? My fear is ruining Karen's life as well. She's as exhausted as me.
E x h a u s t e d to the point of near collapse, I can't sleep - my stupid fear once again. Severe storms the last three nights, more expected later today through Saturday, and I'm so tired ... so, so tired.
I know - take a chill pill; get a grip; shut up ... I've heard it too many times to count. No one understands - no one freaking understands. This damn fear is ruining my life ... I hate living like this.
My prayers are most definitely with you
God Bless
Michelle!

Bless your heart! Everytime I hear about a tornado on the news, I pray for you two...it's become a knee-jerk reaction for me. Don't know that this'll help you, but my advice is: Let Go and Let God.
Hang in there, sweetie.
I think its time for another cruise, or just a short trip to the beach, somewhere that you feel total calm..."YOU NEED A BREAK TODAY!"

Oh dear Friend...May I suggest ear plugs? The bright orange ones they sell at drug stores like Walgreens make me so deaf to the world that I wouldn't know if a freight train came through the bedroom wall. I rarely hear storms at night even in the summer...and we live in the reputed "Lightning Capitol of the US" in the Tampa Bay area of Florida where the lightning pops several thousand bolts a minute. Just close the drapes, turn your eyes away from windows and flashing of lightning, put in the earplugs and read a comforting book, like one of Jan Karon's Mitford books. I'm not trying to minimize your feelings Karla. I'm terrified of the dreadful storms we have too. But somehow those earplugs help me. What I don't know won't hurt me is what I'm trying to share. I hope this helps dear. Michelle
Weather causes extreme anxiety when we never know when we will be targeted or how extreme the storms will be.I can imagine constantly being on the alert. It's extreme and my heart goes out to you ywo. Do you have a basement?
Love,
Susan
I am not mad at you, just mad at these stupid storms. This is craziness; no wonder I want to leave Texas (okay, WE!!) so bad!! Gripping, raw emotion here; I hope we get through the next few days in one piece. God help us, and may the stormy times soon end!! Very well done!

My prayers are with you and your sister. Often to release a fear one must get to the root of it. I had a fear of the dark. Only a few years ago did I release it, yet some nights I can still feel the tension.
Sweet Karla I truly feel for you! I know that fear in the form of phobia is real and can literally harm you. I can only hope you get medical care one day, or look online for group therapy. I'm keeping you in prayre, and my heart goes out to you.
Love,
Eileen

I guess I am one of those who have not taken your fear of inclement weather for real. I admit that I just thought you were "over doing" the situation in the part of world that you live in. I am sorry to hear that you have a real phobia about the weather. Don't know how or what to say, except stay safe and try to come to the reality that most of the time the weather SOUNDS worse thann it really is. Also, percentage-wise, your fears are far worse than the reality of the weather.

This book has been eight years in the making. It is mostly a jumble of thoughts written down in old spiral notebooks and hidden in the bottom drawer underneath various manuals for software packages and hardware long since turned obsolete.
