Made to feel like an inadequate failure because I'm too old for the job and have nothing to show for my life. Made to feel like an inadequate failure because of lack of transportation getting in the way of finding work. Made to feel like an inadequate failure because I'm a good worker, dammit, and no one gives me the chance to prove myself. Made to feel like an inadequate failure because of lack of education and the money to get it...no experience...feel like a dummy. Made to feel like an inadequate failure because my attitude sucks and I blame my disibility for all that is wrong... when it is me that has failed.
Tough lady disability is not physical it is mental and moral. You have a bright mind and straight moral convictions. Nothing can hamper you from being at the top of life. It is not you that you are not utilized properly but it is the system (though i thought it was a better system) that does not give you AN opportunity to show your abilities.

Failed is the system & our nation does not see handicapped people as being able to do anything...Have you been able to talk to some place that deals with people with disabilities...maybe they can point you in the right direction...till then, unfortunately there is welfare, but you gotta live, hon! Karla, it is not you who failed, it is society. There are so many out there who have knowledge and experience and are even loving and caring, but they are not what the "boss" is looking for. It is a shame. Don't give up and most of all, don't feel bad about yourself! their loss in the end, not yours. The right job will come!

Okay...let's think. You are talented, creative and good with kids...BINGO!!! Go to your local Board of Education and apply for a
Paraprofessional's job. They support the teachers, do crafts for children, read and grade papers. Mostly they relieve the teacher from certain duties so he/she can teach. You'd be perfect...please try this first before you say you can't.

Karla you are not and never were a failure, your ability to pull yourself up find new strength to even go look for a job is proof of that in itself. It is not easy to face the interviewers and feel like they are looking at you with indifference, I know I too have been there in past. You will though find the right person who will see you for what and who you are and when that day comes you will smile knowing that it is real and sincere. Till then though the hurt pain and uncertainty seem an unacceptable burden you will go on.
First Karla, a dummy can't write like this! now take the rest and see that it isn't your failure as much as the ignorant people are, that you have to deal with. Don't let pride keep you from getting local help until you find work. If you can't get a job you are entitled to disability. check it out. Whatever you do ,please stop letting the system dictate who you are! You are a very talented person and a good one. You know this, but when you have to deal with idiots you can lose your confidence. Don't let that happen. I'm praying for you Karla, and hope things improve soon!
