George Washington didn't cross the Delaware, fought and spit on the wonded soldiers that couldn't fight no more when things got bad.
We are doing it.
A Vet's ward needs $ 286,33 per day per man to help the wounded.
Instead...
A Purple Heart cost the government $ 7,14 to produce, more cheap!!! and no care attached.

I think things are better now than they were when soldiers returned from Viet Nam. With Nam, the soldier was blamed for the war by the media controlled (baby-boomer) masses. I think most of us have grown up enough to understand that the soldier is the defender of freedom and has nothing to do with the political climate that exists. Being a soldier is a really difficult job filled with sacrifices, and I believe that every person should serve and learn to defend themselves and their right to freedom. "Only those who serve, know the true taste of freedom." The media is not obligated to tell the whole story nor are they banned from stating their opinion in a tone that sounds like fact. Sensationalism sells papers or gets us to tune in, and people love the drama. The soldier gets caught in the crossfire and can come under ridicule for things he/she had no power to change. A most potent offering, Karla.

Heartwrenching...not only Vietnam, but now in Iraq and Afghanistan; they are filling unwanted shoes, knowing what awaits upon their return home. The soils are unfriendly, not only over there, but here as well. Shattering!
