it's not like i don't need this job
i have to work to make ends meet
i can't quit...i don't have that choice
up against a wall of defeat

i work all day for little pay
and what i make all goes to bills
bill collectors are calling me
don't have a car or fancy frills

i'm doing the best job i can
my boss treated me like a jerk
twice today i dissolved in tears
been a very bad day at work

it was quite busy all day long
people kept coming in all day
trying to beat the heat, i know
it's friday--people got their pay

in the ungodly summer heat
had to check items off the truck
he assumed i would do this job
because i can...that's just my luck

have to work the weekend *again*
why can't i ever get a break?
when i ask for the weekends off
*that* winds up being a mistake

just had a vacation and now
i think i need another one
so damn frustrated with my job
and i can't talk to anyone

he wants his employees to care
but hurts those he depends on most
wearing me down, can't take much more
at the point of quitting? ALMOST!!!!
