They find him, curled up
at the bottom of
the page, sound asleep
after a night spent
writing poetry.
And what poetry
it is --- a gift for
those who have eyes to
hear and ears to see
what love is about.
Angels sing when he
takes pen in hand and
scribes words on our hearts:
Savannah's peace, ours
to share with the world.
And when he awakes,
hopefully we'll know
a brave new world where
there are no more tears,
wars or prejudice.
Gee whiz you know how to make a grown poet cry :-) I believe that as we continue to read words such as those you have penned in poems sufficient to fill a Pulitzer-prize winning volume, our world may very well achieve the dreams you articulated at the end of these beautiful lines. Thank you very much Beautiful Poet. I will try harder to earn the honor of these illuminated syllables.
