... to rage my inadequacies ...

... the green is showing
again.  the monster of
jealousy has been
unleashed to rage my
inadequacies in life and
words --- how dare i
call this living or myself
a Poet?  the prophecies
spoken come back to
haunt me:  you will
always be a failure; you
will never amount to
anything.  each said was
proven to be my destiny ...

Poetry is feelings, imagery, thoughts.... You have made me feel, Karla. Plus, I now see the sky in a way I never did. Stay strong, Poet Gal!

I disagree. You are enough. You are a poet. You do live. Your inadequacies? Where? What? You have some internal rhyme that I can't seem to pull off as well. Your poetry is great. Tell those others to shove off. Liz

The Muse isn't kind. She gives the shining gift, but whether the world acknowledges you or not--who knows? You ARE a poet, though, lady, and lots of folks here seem to get it! Bright Blessings

Words can be absolutely devastating; they can be life-changing. I can relate to what you express here, Karla; however, I sure don't "see" you as a failure. Love, peace, and best wishes,

words--they do hurt-for longer and deeper than physical pain--i battle the affects of words every day--just keep battling above them--

Words are an amazing thing...they can build up or break down, comfort and destroy... Sometimes our own words do the same to us. Sometimes in getting the negative thoughts out on "paper" we can leave the positive thoughts inside...kind of a washing the slate clean and ridding the head of monsters (maybe even of the green kind... hee, hee...)

When others have nothing else, you, Karla, will still have your words in poetic form... a legacy that you are NOT a failure...but rather, a masterful poet who shares her heartfelt emotions with others.

You are one of my favorites...
Cryssa :~)

IF EVER YOUR POEMS have brought a smile to someone's lips, encouragement, emotional or mental nourishment, ideas and solutions, stimulating and satisfying thoughts, amusement, love, joy, laughter, empathy, tears, information, insight, ect. --- then my dear Karla, I'd say that you are a very, very successful poet! And ... a very special person!

Oh yes words do hurt and no one has the right to verbably abuse us. I believe WE are all fine poets and WE have to believe in ourselves for others to believe in us. We look forward to reading your work Karla, the day you give up and listen to someone else is the only day you fail. You keep writing for US.

Karla,
You are many things, inspirational, intelligent and highly entertaining, amongst many other wonderful attributes. A failure, that you are not!
Stay well and positive Karla, we look up to you.

Good to express your feelings. In this case, you can look at what you've written, and say, this is not me at all.

What the hell Karla, did you loose a fight with the weather balloon?
where does all this come from, we can't all be President or whatever,
without you, everybody else would fail, think, the universe is all one, and there no one is more important than the other, and being a failure is pure Mind F...ck... so get with it, I want to see good poetry tommorow, as always, I'm watching...Jasmin Horst

Karla,

I think you are one of the best poets I've encountered and you write with such nakedness of emotions your poems are so pure. I love your style.

As poets we are only failures if we make it so, heart and soul does not know failure, setbacks yes but not failure.

Karla,

A powerful write. Sometimes it's good to vent and let it all out. And don't believe for a moment that you're not a wonderful poet and person. you've helped through some times without even knowing it. thank you for being you.

Whoever told you that you were a failure does not know the strong Karla I know, the one who struggles through adversities, the one who usually has a sunny disposition in the midst of storm. You've had more than enough trials in life and sometimes it will wear you down. I believe in you. Excellent rant; I hear ya! Very well expressed!

(((HUGS))), much love, and continued prayers,

As always, your twin, Karen Lynn. :(
