Love the imagery and lush luxurious mesh of language in these lines. The stand-alone proclamation of "Suddenly naked as Eve" seems to me particular effective, stark, and powerful. Much gratitude for the sharing of this and all your very exceptional work,
wow! -- you captured the emotion of winter's icy grip on every living thing, impressively -- the sentiment you captured is truly riveting -- peace and love to you Karla, my friend -- JMW
For the same reason, I love springtime too, but fall is another matter. We have these huge century old oak trees surrounding our house and I'm the one that has to rake the leaves each fall--barrels of them. I enjoyed the image created with "Winter wraps its chilly arms around my trunk". I’m feeling that winter chill now as I write this review early in the morning after enjoying the vivid images and physical reaction to your poem.
This is one naked that I can stand to look at...altho...it is quite gloomy in it's entirety....and does one bring thoughts to Spring.... great writing. lindalaw
You're NEKKID?? LOL Oh, whoops! Sorry!! (Get your mind outta da gutter, Karen Lynn! LOL) Can't wait for the snow to start flyin' myself; don't do springtime, as you and I both know all too well! LOL Very well done; brava!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your twinkles, Karen Lynn. :D X0X0X0X0
Rather nice, Karla. Spare and wintry, just like the season itself, but very intimate and evocative. Truly an arresting paeon (cardiac type) to the need for seasonal heat.

Pure Karla, this. But what makes spring so welcome is
the chill of winter. Yes? -gene.

Drat!!! . . . I was looking forward to a little . . . er . . . Never mind . . . I settled for the poem and it was well-written and from the heart I am positive . . .
This collection of poetry addresses the nature of time, reflections on the natural world, the difficulty of loss,
contemporary social issues and gratitude for life.
Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
Regardless of where you may be found in love this beautiful masterpiece can be

Ha Ha. "It's not what you think!" Visiting any grove of deciduous trees in mid-January would qualify.
I do so love paybacks! You've made my day, Karla.
