One year ago today, my big, strong Daddy died ... I miss him. =[

been a year
and the hole in my heart is as big as it was
when i heard
that you had died. it wasn't fair, Daddy --
i wasn't
ready to let you go. still having a hard time
without you
as close as the phone. how i miss your big,
strong arms; your
booming laugh; everything about you, Daddy:
my world not
the same. it's a much sadder, lonelier place.
i just wish
i could have seen you one more time before
you left me -
told you the things i never could say enough
(i love you) -
i miss you. more than you will ever know ...
Guess we all miss our dad's when they are well loved. I'm glad
you had a father to remember with love, so many do not.Beautiful
remembrance!I love that photo!
My heart goes out to you in this heartfelt poem. I know and understand your feelings so well. Please keep well and you know your Daddy will always watching over you and Karen. He is your guardian angel now.
I think he knows; my Dad's been gone almost nine years now, and it's still not the same for me without him, and there's rarely a day I don't think about him.
Nothing can be empty when Daddy's in your heart.
The missing physical presence will be after a while covered by the spiritual which will comfort and peace your soul.
The loss of a true loving parent takes a long time to get used to, in fact it has been almost thirty years since I lost mine and I am still not used to it...
This one hurts; I can feel the pain in your heart. I am going through the same thing myself; how I wish we could have seen him one more time before he died! Powerful emotions here, Karla; very well penned!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn. :( >tears! <
The problem with seeing a loved one one more time is that you still want to see them one more time still. The yearning, pain and longing are evident. Share your pain. Hugs, Liz
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.

Maybe someday we will get used to it...but I think there will always be that hole.
Hugs to you!
