They're just not there,
the words
I once knew as friends ...
the thoughts
refuse to be put down
to page.
I struggle now, wonder
if they
will ever come back ...
miss them.
Karla, the words are there, just out of your imagination, on a short break -- but, they will return and you will go forward just as though they had never stopped -- may peace and love be always with you my dear friend -- Jon Michael
:)) Charlie's a total darling... That's the ticket... when our own go walkabouts, we just nab someone else's to get us going again... Cars do it all the time - tis called Jump-Starting over here.
I used a lot of tricks to get me through NaPoWriMo: here's a couple for you to try until yours show up again for dinner, complaining of hunger!
Flip open a few of your favourite books and select an arresting line from each, then assemble them into a poem without changing a thing!
Or, even better, go through a few of your favourite poems of your own and take out the BEST line from each and reassemble them into something that may or not make sense. Remember that poetry is to be FELT as much as understood, so don't worry too much about it reading rational! Someone will understand it!! And we will all get something from it in our own sweet way.
NOW... your missing ones should have come marching home by now, flushed from the undergrowth by the fear of having been made redundant...!! Have fun! :)) xx
...boy do I understand those feelings, I myself have been trying to nudge my muse into giving me some ideas, hopefully a two week vacation on the beach will help.
peace, Carole~
You sound just the way I feel. I have a total writing block and even when I attempt to write, I think of something else to do and jump up from my computer. Is that called "burnout"?

I think at one time or another, we've all "been there, done that". Nothing is so frustrating than words that refuse to speak.
