i wake up oh crud it's only four ten
dang i had that stupid nightmare again
the one where my gramma's calling for me
trapped by the tornado caught in debris
she blamed me for not warning her before
now she lay dying...oh how the tears pour
thank God thank God it was only a dream
but i sure woke up the house with my scream
i wake up oh crud only three-oh-two
dang another nightmare this one's bad too
the one where i'm being chased by a storm
it's getting closer a monster transformed
i can't outrun it as hard as i try
lightning seeking me out it means to fry...
thank God thank God it was only a dream
but i sure woke up the house with my scream
i wake up oh crud it's only midnight
another nightmare my heart's pounding in fright
i'm trapped can't get out someone set me free
claustrophobic can't someone hear my plea
get me out get me out i can't stand this
feels like i'm suffering paralysis...
thank God thank God it was only a dream
but i sure woke up the house with my scream
i wake up oh crud it's only five ten
dang i had another nightmare again
i wish i could get a decent night's rest
instead my heart nearly stops in my chest
why can't i sleep good just once all i ask
or is that just an impossible task...
thank God thank God it was only a dream
tired of wakin' myself with my scream!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
it's the truth, too...some nights, i have some
WOOLLY nightmares...wake up, scared to
death. any suggestions??
P.S.--karen says i read scary books. i do
not. i read some medical thrillers or a good
mystery. nothing like stephen king or dean
koontz or james patterson (although i like
their books, i will not read 'em before going
to bed! did that once...NEVER AGAIN!).
(((HUGS))) and love,
karla. :0

Good write, I think we all have had our share of nightmares.
Karla,
I enjoyed this very much, and also your sister's. I know what you are saying about looking at the clock and realizing that you still have hours to go before morning. I also agree with Lisa, sometimes medicines do enhance our dream state, and not for the better. You could also get a good dream book if you are into that, they have tons of meanings for what we dream, and most of the time what we percieve as a bad meaning, is actually something good. Strange I know, but even without the dream book, it seems to be the way it works.
Anyway, I know I just rambled, LOL! I hope you have peaceful night's from now on!
Karla, This is a great write,,but yes I do have some suggestions,,if you are taking pain meds,,they will cause nightmares bad.Other kinds of meds will also,,might check into that,,,Lisa
just thank god that it was only a dream. and thank him for letting you wake up, safe and sound! yikes, those dreams sound NAAASTY! or you could write about them; it may help. hope these suggestions help. oh, and another one. STOP reading those wooly scary books before you go to bed. and then you wonder WHY you have nightmares! DUH!! love, your twin, karen lynn. (((((((comforting HUGS)))))))) to you!! :)
