not again
theyre sayin more storms
could form
theres a slight risk
of severe thunderstorms
in our area
beginnin tomorrow
we just had a week of this
day after day
late afternoon
early evenin
warm moist air in our area
hot dry air to the west
the "west texas dryline"
separates the two
for a little variety
lets spice things up
throw in upper air wind shear
mebbe even a front
or disturbance
stirrin UP the atmospere
sittin right over our heads
severe weather season
is upon us
AND I CANT HANDLE IT
as i was sayin
beginnin tomorrow
mebbe even tonight
because the damn dryline
is backin up
thunderstorms could form
mebbe they will
mebbe they wont
BUT THE POSSIBILITY EXISTS
thats too great a chance
in my eyes
a strong cappin inversion
kinda like the lid on a pot
has kept thunderstorms
from formin
for the most part
the upper atmosphere
is very unstable
and if one storm
can bust through the cap
blow the proverbial
lid off of the pot
WATCH OUT
all hells fixin to break loose
like the other day
nothin
then at sunset
BOOOOOOOM
severe thunderstorms
winds to 80 mph
hail
heavy floodin rain
intense vivid lightning
and nerve jarrin thunder
weve been under tornado watches
day after day
and all those storms up north
of us coulda been here
you never know
when one of these babies
is gonna pop
and when it does
its gonna come up a cloud
AND THERE IS NO FREAKIN PLACE TO HIDE
except a teeny tiny
claustrophobic sized
half bath
I WANT A BASEMENT

Not a nice thing to look forward too if you are that afraid. Have you tried hypnosis or some form of therapy to help cure your phobia ?

When you really think of it Storms are just another way of matter being transformed;-) I know they are scary and destructive, but they are also beautiful and necessary.actually when you think of it they're a lot like people;-) Used to live in tornado alley, I hated it;-)!

I've been facinated by storms since I was a kid. My neighbors think I'm nuts, for when the sirens blare and everyone rushes for cover, you'll find me scaling my ladder to get a good view on the roof. I figure if God wants me, he's gonna take me regardless of where I am. So far, he's happy to let me watch his show.

oh storms are no fun, if they frighten you....we once got a few feet of rain in maybe 12 hrs, lakes were washed away into other lakes, houses were under water....but I live in the highest house in my town, so I had no problems..ty god....if not for the destruction, I like a good storm....but I know they are so dangerous!

Keep your chin up....(not trying to be funny)

You will be ok
pax and hugs.....Anita

We are having storms all week, it's boom, booming as I type. I just went 15 miles to rescue my brother-in-law, he ran out of gas with it storming all over. I don't fear though, whatever will happen, will happen. We have storm cellers here in Arkansas. It looks like Texas would have basements at schools, but they don't. Be brave as you can.....your
friend.........Ron

i want a basement, too! WAHHHHHH!!!! :( at times, i wish i never LEFT ohio; there, at least, we had a place to hide in if storms threatened..what chance do we have here? :( i still can't bring myself to understand WHY they have no basements here in tornado alley, especially here in texas! DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL!!! :( i think it ought to be required that they have at least SOME form of underground shelter made available to us here in tornado alley (especially in TEXAS!)!!!! you captured your fears all too well, and i am afraid i am turning just like you (and i have YET to be IN a tornado, and i DON'T CARE to be IN one, thank you very much!!! :( ). now i can understand your fear, as you HAVE been in 3 of them suckers (and the last one ate your roof--YIKES!!! :0), but at times her fear is so strong, it makes ME nervous, especially if she goes quiet on me and WON'T tell me what is going on in terms of the weather! THAT is what drives ME crazy! good, intense write of what a storm phobic actually experiences during severe weather season! you captured your fears perfectly, and the drama of the season itself! :( (((((((HUGS)))))))) and love, your (getting to be equally) storm phobic twin, karen lynn. :) gee, THANKS LOADS, karla, for sharing your danged phobia of storms with me...you shared your arthritis and just about EVERYTHING ELSE with me; do you HAVE to share your WEATHER PHOBIAS with me, TOO???? :(

You poor thing. Hypnosis and post hypnotic suggestions would help you through this. Nicely expressed. I feel for you. I have no fear of anything, except that there might not be any Tiramisu in heaven. [smiles]
