When the Dying Dream

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To many
Life is like a nocturnal nest
Incubating beliefs and ideals
Delivered into an environment of distant souls
Surrounded by darkness
And twisted around vanishing shadows
Death rising from birth
Motion flowing from decay
Growth reveling
Within the fading movement of thought
Too many
Dreams are like broken mirrors
Scattered on the floor of unforeseen consequence
Each fragment reflecting a glimpse
Of shattered moments
Inside a montage of appearance
Each blade of expectation only a façade
Of a desired image hoping to be achieved
Hoping to reform again
In the dying rebirth of creation
Circle of life, circle of death into life into death into life...
You've captured it.
Dear Jude,
Often to many, situations may be just how you portrayed them, and sadly there are valid reasons for this. You are wise with your words, and capture feelings and emotions exceptionally well. Beautifully written Jude.
"...dreams are like broken mirrors scattered on the floor of unforeseen consequence..." what a magnificent catch! fathomless territory, Sir Ace, the world where dreams embrace creation...
Another captivating write.
WOW! Ace is a great nickname for you, especially as a poet
(though that may not be how you came by it), as you are one
of the best image-makers on the Den.
This is fantastic!
This is rich in concept, image and projection, Jude. You have provoked a rich response in return. I can only add that the lines about the fragments of mirror speak so powerfully, and makes me think of a mirror ball that throws out so many different tangents of reflected light as other sources of light illuminate it. Fascinating. Makes me think also of the "substance" being manipulated by our differing planes of consciousness, too; that how I see things today will not be the same as the way they appear to me tomorrow - not that the "things" have changed, but I have. But it is good to have the "Epiphany" moment restored to us: the "Edenic" clarity of the original thought or idea, that might have been lost to us through our own psychological "wanderings". Your work always has the capacity to do this. TY Kate xx
We are all dying and yet never dying and it's difficult to discern where the dream ends and begins again. Powerful write, Jude. Deeply thought provoking.
A poem of insight and enlightenment
showing the beauty of hope in lifes
shifting shadows as well as deaths
new birth into the continuum
"Each blade of expectation only a facade
of the desired image hoping to be achieved"
dies to become reborn into the ever evolving
mirror of eons as life continues
Thank you for sharing Jude!
death rising from birth\motion flowing from decay....beautiful, each paragraph the antitesis of thought. This is by far one of your best. Each stanza is a gem, "each fragment reflecting a glimpse
of shattered moments
inside a montage of appearence...."
Haven't read any better anywhere. Your talent really shines in this keeper.
This is fantastic, Robert:
"Dreams are like broken mirrors
Scattered on the floor of unforeseen consequence
Each fragment reflecting a glimpse
Of shattered moments
It is often true that we see only pieces of the whole picture, the pieces that appeal to our train of thought or perhaps to our paranoia. There is perfection in all things but only when we believe it to be so. I really like this piece; it shows that there is strength even within confusion, in being wrongly perceived or perceiving wrongly.
Take care,
Sherry
I think you are always reforming your desired image as you so aptly stated. Your words are always a challenge to the mind and to the
imagination of the reader.. challenging them to open their minds, hearts and souls to the possibilities that you put foward. Well done Robert.
