the Indelible Spirit of a Poem

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ideas blend and assemble
From the content of their own character
Designed by the nature of their own momentum
They fly into the poet’s mind like leaves upon the wind
They float upon the waves like vessels of light
Each destined to adhere to a current of concept
Each powered by direction and mood
Imbuing the mind with notions of expression
Embodying reflection as the imagery of motion
Ideas find their way into everything
And arise from nothing
They are orphans who inherit the world of totality
Students desiring to be taught
Dreams desiring to be woken
From deep recesses of understanding
The acumen of placing ideas in order
Without any semblance of structure
Forms a spontaneous phrase
Commencing to congeal
Into the indelible spirit of a poem
Dear Jude,
Absolutely true, incredibly penned as only you can.
Commencing to congeal
Into the indelible spirit of a poem ---> One should never forget, no matter how small and insignificant it may look or sound, it is still a "spirit of a poem"
Well done Jude ;)
warm hugs
Robert,
The act of constructing as metaphor for composing a poem, when brought with your pen is woven together with a golden thread.
Sometimes, once I've grasped and embraced your always inviting themes, I just settle in and admire your way with expression, on a 2nd read. It's often a peaceful moment, indeed. katy xox.
a conceptual poem about orphan ideas and elusive concepts harnessed into the "indelible spirit of a poem." indelible, indeed, poems like these. my work (marketing communications, creativity) has always been the realm of the idea, so I am especially drawn to this. thanks
I often read your poetry at the end of one of my shifts, and then read it again the next day for a treat and then reply. This one I could hear your voice saying it, as I read it. Delightful snack for a day of thoughts :-) Thank you.
When I read your poetry, I am there. I ride the waves of your phenomenal ideas. Sometimes, I don't totally understand. But that's a good thing because you make me think deep into your phrases. This poem is one of the best I have enjoyed. I would like to carry it around in my pocket.
They truly do, and a magnificent take on the birth of a poem.
"They are like orphans who inherit the world of totality." Yes, poems are exactly like this, and your saying so tells us how poetry is accepting a mantle of modern responsibility. This work hurries it along. Thank you. - Bill
Like a breeze blowing across the strings of the spirit and soul, this resonates with a mystical comprehension and collects like a weather-system into meaning. It feels like a tuning fork to me... or perhaps I do in response to it!!?? Don't YOU ever take a break, Jude. Somehow I feel like you have been producing your very best stuff of late - bursting with what you call "verve", and emotional intelligence. Very muscular. Sourced from an energy that blows to and from where?! Who knows!! This is a keeper - but I promise not to be a stealer, even though I would love to filch it for my folder!! :))) LOL Kate xx
