"...the contention of being truly alive..." Oh if one we be, Sir Ace!, what a very different world humanity would make!

Love the sense of an activity that is largely invisible and amorphous; opaque and at the same time, diaphanous - like the stages of gestation. Last four lines brilliant, but the concept of "The rhyme of a tempestuous universe Merging into the next rostrum Within a sigh of perpetual character" is bubbling about in my brain like hydrogen: makes me think that the words are born purely because they need to be, for their own selves - not necessarily because they need an audience. They just need to be said - even if very few, and no-one is listening... which they are not to this, but they are very much to you!! No suppressing that restless muse... TY Kate xx
I thought you already did that. Your vocabulary is varied and endless. This is a beautiful write. I do know the feeling of desiring to express myself, and there just are no words.

Tight, concise and perfect flow make this poem stand out as a true gem, Robert. This is a wonderful way to explain the power of the pen. We, as writers, seem to ebb and flow with the moods of time and words come to us like ricocheting stars out of the dark of night. Wonderful work.
Take care,
Sherry
Your second last stanza "An anomaly..."I believe accurately sums up most of the poets of the world, may have to borrrow that line someday for my eulogy. lol

Fascinating. Words conjure love, hate, tears, laughter, peace, war.

Questions, unquestioned discoveries, and answers in parable and rhyme…. This collection records a journey starting with a 1960s retrospective and the first man on the moon, moving to a new millennium welcomed in with a terrorist spin, family crises,

Across vaporous valleys and over distant mountainsides
Through internal stars pouring energy into poetry
Searching for words without any sound
Uttering phrases only heard inside of dreams"
