~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In my dream
The sky opens up like a magnetic rip
Across the horizon are nebulous
Steaks of lightning
Flashing from within its pensive wound
In the distance millions of bodies
Dangle from lampposts
Countless others are hanging from trees
Some impaled by broken glass
Others crushed by iron and concrete
Surrounded within moans of horror and pain
I feel like an alien on my own planet
Like a visitor from outside of the ruins of time
I wonder if this is how the world cleanses itself
From suffering and pain
With suffering and pain
By bleeding itself
From the inevitable end
Could truth arise from utter destruction?
In a pit of molten neurons
The devils are transforming into angels
I acknowledge to the dreamer
Perhaps there is a plan
What a revelation! At least there are steaks (cooked by lightning?) to eat. ;-).
Your dreams make for some heavy, intense poetry. This is a good idea, writing dreams into prose. I imagine you derive much meaning from your dreams.
I wonder if this is how the world cleanses itself
From suffering and pain
With suffering and pain
I've wondered this same thought. Definitely much to ponder.
"I wonder if this is how the world cleanses itself From suffering and pain With suffering and pain." That is a very heavy thought within a dream revelation. I do believe there is a plan and that horrible things are allowed to happen. Wonderful poem, Jude.
I love the weave of this poem especially:
Jude you have disturbing dreams and your analytical mind makes for interesting interpretation. The wisdom and insight you reveal lead to much reflection. I think there is a 'plan'.
I loved exploring as a child. I'd often walk through a field of golden grass, marvelling at the countless natural 'treasures' I found, absorbing all with childish awe. Then a veld fire claimed it and all that beauty was destroyed. All was left blackened and charred. I cried for my field of gold (here we call it veld) and the creatures that inhabited it and I couldn't bear to see the destruction that fire wreaked. In a while the miracle happened and green shoots broke through the desolation. Soon nature had reclaimed her territory and with this discovery, I learnt something valuable. I won't take up more of your board with the details - I'm sure you know. You've said it all in this poem.
Dear Jude,
Dark imagery... haunting... maybe it is how the world cleanses itself. Time alone may tell of the plan, unless there is more already seen ! Well written Jude.
wow... this totally stands out from the first 2, yet is united with them in the same flow and continuing thread of increasing loss of innocence, maybe... great thought-provoking work!
Unfortunately, it is how the world cleanses itself. No matter how hard we try, the entire universe is in a constant state of recyling all of its elements. However, I think that in order for humans to survive, we need to find a way to become compassionate humans. It will take an incredible amount of cooperation for us to ever leave the orbit of this solar system as we truly search for life after death...as in death of the planet and life of the human species. So to do that we will need to live for the sake of others, rather for ourselves. LOL...sorry for going on so long. Your poems make people think. That is what makes them so good. ~ Sara
A new chance for hells angels..
The begining gave images of the William Wallace film.
Many haunting images, until the last five lines that speak of hope...
I see shades of September 11, the tsuanami and other current events of this beleagured world we live in. Perhaps it is not so much a dream but a wake up call to all of us and your words of hope are a pep rally to move ahead. Well Done Robert
Robert, I'm hanging on to that very idea of a plan.
We all have twinges I think of how it will all come to pass.
Personally I just hope it's over before I know it started.
Excellent writing Robert.
Goodness... this seems one heck of a bold write... shades of tsunami piercing it like rays of darkness. An unpalatable thought, that human suffering and physical devastation might be part of some "plan", or the way that nature cleanses itself; but, ultimately, I guess that is what death and decay are all about. Not God's original Plan A, I think, but the imperfect alternative, brought about by man's desire to have control and do things his own way. Can almost smell this - it is so strong. Oh well... not quite the "fatted calf" I had thought of; more like the funeral pyre!! I like the way you couch this extreme chaos and disorder within the framework of some possible "design" here. Origen a Catholic theologian and prolific writere,along with others, mainly of thesophic persuasion, believe that all of Satans angels must be restored to what they were in heaven before the fall,and before the new earth event takes place. So your dreams could be right on target;-) Excellent telling of a gruesome subject (images of the bodies etc.)
