In my dream I hover above a field
As a herd of horses gallop toward the horizon
Running wild through hills and valleys
Over pastures and brooks
The thunderous roar of their majestic bodies
Is an overwhelming sight to behold
Is syncopated motion of power within beauty
Is a sound I will never forget
I know they see me
Eyes turn up to offer a fleeting glance
Tails flowing in the wind
Manes bouncing to an elegant gesture
Of chestnut, bay, gray and black
There is a palomino in front of the herd
He jumps over a fallen tree
And ascends into the air
With golden wings
Rising from his torso
He reminds me of Pegasus
Bringing Zeus lightning and thunder
And as he comes to me
He invites me with a nudge of his muzzle
It’s no puzzle
I’m in for the ride of my life

Reviews of "Dream Scene (g) ... the Ascending Palomino"
i just put up a new bio picture - that is Apollo next to me - he's a baby 10 months old - adopted from the BLM in Neveda - he was born wild and free on the open range - and yet he let me snuggle all over him
Love this ...it is beautiful and i can visualize it. I actually had a dream of myself flying over a field once...only in one of these dreams there was also a train going through the land.

I love horses. They are Gods most beautiful creation.
Now, did you have on clothes in this dream? That's what I want to know. If you were a woman, I'd tell you plainly, it's a sex dream. Everyone knows that women and horses, power between the thighs and all that, sex, sex, sex. Don't let these frustrated lassies tell you otherwise. ;-) You on the other hand, hmmm. Your horsies are sprouting wings. Still aiming to fly as with the car. My advice, fly, shaman, soar! Hehehee. That'll be $120 in payment for my Jung impersonation today. ~~~Nordette

Love the joy in this write and the feeling of the freedom of the horse. I have been very fortunte recently. A friend of mine is bringing her horse's close to the town we live in and when she heard of my love for horses she has offered to let me go riding with her :-) Enjoy your trip!

Hey Jude,
You really are talented. I hope you are trying to get you work published. Everything you write is worth reading.
My neighbors have horses and one of them is a Palimino she is pregnant and she really is a beautiful horse. They are all well treated but here they do treat their horses well. At least when in sight of me. Beautiful poem.
Good dreams do not always make good poetry but yours do. This is a wonderful vision of personal intellectual and spiritual evolution in progress and to come. Nice write and nice ride.
You are taking the freedom of the ride to the next level, Robert, as you mount the winged Palamino. Off into the galaxies you fly absorbing new dimensions, insights and a vision of clarity that many never even dare to venture toward. Your strong images plucked me up and took me along on that wonderous ride as well. Very nice!
Take care,
Sherry

And so you will be sooner than you think.

Enjoy the ride.
This is a wondrous write and I can only coppare it to the feeling of being on a hog (Harley) with the wind in my hair, oh yea forgot shaved that off well in my dream I can have hair. lol Great images here Jude.
Oh yes!! This is just great and reminds me of the mad romp I had with my beautiful Andalusian last year - colouring similar to the palomino but more muscular; I wrote about it in "Boudicca"!! The elegance and intelligence of Pegasus coupled with the raw energy and smoothness of Easy Rider: how many pillion passengers do you reckon he can handle?! Smokin!! Hang on tight! :)) Kate xx
Dear Jude,
Exceptional as always. The symbolism (intentional or unintentional) in this dream is clear. I rode a lot as a child and young woman and had my own horse. Strangely, my dream was always to have a palomino. The power of a horse in full gallop between your thighs is an exhilerating experience. The sense of freedom and peace one feels during such a ride is hard to beat.
Enjoy the ride Jude.

Nothing like riding a Palomino in a dream..
I took some bee pollen pills the other night
and dreamed I had been bee stung a million times..
Enjoy your work Robert...
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.

*Smiles* Hang on and enjoy--o, you and I were on the same path today! LOVE IT
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :)
