This is so scary, but also so appropriate for the times we live in. Power and greed have taken over understanding and compassion. Even the earth heaves as earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, hurricanes, tornados and raging forest fires lash out at the mess man has made of his home. Families don't even know each other any more and we never speak to our neighbors. Be it a sea of blood or of God's tears, the truth is that we are a very ungrateful people living in a very ungrateful world. The facts of life today are plenty to cast us all into nightmares of monument us proportions. Excellent images and deep emotions paint your verses, Robert. This is stunning!

We die of blood and are born of blood. We were exhonerated by God through blood sacrifice. We were redeemed through Christ's blood, who took the place of the literal blood sacrifice--the "deep gash"? The "sea of blood boiling" is a scripture reference also--one of the plagues. The plagues apon us at this time involve blood. Blood contains our DNA, which is being manipulated through research into cloning and stem cells. Bio-warfare is also a possibility we face everyday, not in our concious minds but buried deep in our subconcious. Along with War and genocide. Its no wonder you dream of steering through a "sea of blood" and feel the burden of the world...

... Well, this would make a fine contribution to The Duck's dream challenge - but let's hope it is not a recurring one! Certainly "Not nice", my Child, is it?! But then the truth often isn't. So graphic it is quite difficult to truly get my mind round the images, either singly or compounded, but the whole spells P-A-I-N and sounds like something that COULD be fever-induced. I like the way you have depicted the suffering of the psyche as something so actually bloodied and bleeding: the pulsating inner heart and mind of man exposed. And I think for many racked in agony it must be like this - for both those who suffer and for those who perpetrate such dreadful acts of violence, one against another. Oceans of mortal anguish portrayed in vivid technicolour here; gruesome but needful. Startling, thank you. Kate xx
