I seem to so easily miss your work as I get caught up with my daily life but it is always such a pleasure to come in here and be inspired. I often wonder if the great well of your creativity will ever run dry but somehow I doubt it. You have tapped into some great cosmic force that allows you to express magnigicently. This poem is a work of art.

Shades of light... on a first interpretation, shades could be blockers or at least sifters of light. But on a deeper perception, shades are because light is, so they are elements of light itself... only softer, more subtle. Yes... shades of light have a lot to say.

The bright light of the sun on a spring day, the warmth of the light on a summers day, the steel blue light shining through the clouds of fall, and the rainbows cast after a summers rain, all taken in by the orbs of our sight to light up each and every day of our lives.
"Shades of light invite spectrum of perception" This line, in particular, struck me. We all are blessed or suffer from varing degrees of light and they certainly do have an effect on our perception. Light, spirit and attitude work together to create our physical and mental postures. The final line affirms the rest of your poem as sighted or blind, light is still able to create the spectrum of our perceptions. Excellent writing, Robert.

I shoot photographs and also enjoy painting
and one thing I've discovered is that Light
is everything.
We are all a part of the
infinite Circle of Light.
Hmmm... eyes and light: what a mystical combination these two are, but the one which shapes our very existence(!) as this subjective and objective pairing come together. How we perceive the world around us and the ways in which we relate to it ultimately governs the who and what we are... but, oh, how fascinating this is as our lines of sight and the light are constantly changing, shapeshifting; altering our understanding of what is the "true" image moment by moment, like light through coursing water. I think this must be my favourite topic: "Fish/Moving Image" was the poem I wrote in January about it. A write that is as sinuous and fluid as the subject matter which, as long as the sun continues to rise each day, will hold our thrall with its inexhaustible qualities forever. A beautifully multi-layered and elegant write, Jude, thank you. It seems that, like the light, we who are affected by it will be always in transition. Kate xx
"Shades of Light" takes a fascinating approach in exploring the shades of meaning we find because of or simply attach to light. Love that "mysterious domain" line. Very nice.
This is a wonderful poem on a subject close to my heart.Light is always immensely significant, because Creator is called Light.The mystery of it eludes us now but it won't in future realms. there are so many aspects to light that we don't even recognize. It would take a book to expound it. Excellent topic, examined beautifully by your perspicacious eye!
