~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
O’ that beautiful gleam of the forest night
Arising from within the misty sky where angels of light
Remind us of our onward journey
Across the vast uncharted worlds where our hearts do lie
O’ to breathe in the aroma of the ground and sky
And to dream of the color the depths do hide
As we surrender to the beauty
Inside our worlds colliding in unison
O’ to walk across the fields of a moon-laced eve
Where life has given us the ultimate surprise
For we can see the twinkle inside our eyes
Like a mantra of hope, we will always survive
O’ we have overcome our fear of the dark
Where we have lived for eons on end
For now we will no longer pretend
We have found our way to embark upon the heavens
You write like a very caring loving person. I like to read your writes and find them encourgaing and sentimental too. Keep writing those heavenly writes and success will come to you.
It has taken a long time, but our destiny is in the stars, not watching them glitter the night sky.
The labour pains have delivered the most beautiful song, combining the longing lilt of a sweet litany with the loving note of a timeless troubadour. A pleasure to read this birth.
Slightly different from your usual, Ace, but gorgeous nonetheless,
as always.
Yes, indeed, that "twinkle inside our eyes" sometimes is the Hope that gives us the means to "float."
O', O', O', yes!!
O to be in NYC
Now that May is there,
And whoever walks in NYC
Sees, some evening, unaware,
That the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf
Round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf,
While the Forese sings on the orchard bough
In New York - now!
...And shall I compare thee to Robert Browning?! Seems like I just did, but I'll leave it to the others to decide which way the comparison goes... in your favour, here, I think! Far more eloquent with end rhymes, internal rhymes, half rhymes and juxtapositions to die for! :) This change of canon is a wonderful showcase for both your discernible metaphysical voice and your accomplished skill with traditonal metre and form: an entirely intoxicating and heady mix!
Yup, the pressure's gettin to me and if my mood seems a little extreme over this next month... this too will pass! Just another load of coursework combustin my brain...
Beam me up, Scottie... I mean, Robert! (Oh, dear... she's really lost it...)
All these years that I thought sonnets had to rhyme, I was wrong. You have written a perfect sonnet in blank verse. Huzzah to you for a masterful write.
Good use of visual imagery and like the use of "dark" jusxtaposed against the light in the heavens. Super write.
Jude you have outdone yourself here and set the pole pretty high standard for others to follow. This is so mesmerizingly true that it makes me wonder if you share a part of all the poets hearts when you wrote this. wonderful write my friend
There is an air of enchantment in your verses, Robert. That special magic that takes two souls to the highest of heights to soar in the depths of the stars. I loved the images you painted, especially the "aroma of the ground". When I am in the wilderness, that very scent opens every part of my spirit. This write is a stunning beauty and one for my library.
Take care,
Sherry
