Uniting Separate Paths

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I last saw you my blood almost ran backward
The speedy, indecisive nature
Of our destined paths
Oozed through the pores
Of our experience
Spilling onto the path before us
Congealing into a pattern of movement
We recognized as our separate objectives
The cul-de-sac of our once proficient dreams
Now lay before us
As if we were on the edge of the earth
Where we would fall off
Into the vast emptiness
Of what seemed impossible to endure
And so we looked into divided horizons
Accepting the inevitability of our circumstance
Merging into separate goals
Becoming one in diversity
Our blood
Transfusing from the source of life’s multiplicity
Jude,
This speaks to and from the innermost psyche, carrying
triggers of the highly evocative nature!
This is my favorite stanza (I lingered in its space for a while
before I commented)...
A stimulating write Robert. Not only to the imagination but to the soul as well.
We all need acceptance, whether we are willing to admit it or not.
As always a grand write from your pen Sir.
Ah, acceptance, now that's the tough one...
A pleasure, as always, Sir Ace. Love the way you phrase and amaze.
Robert, within your reads lay a whole world of creative splendor. You are indeed a living poem in progress.
Ace, never let it be said that you ever disappoint the creativity that was entrusted to you by the Almighty Muse of the Universe. The first like was a bungee jump of titilated dreams come true, and the last line sways the gentle cords of memoir so gently, wishing that life didn't have to get in the way of things that could have been in one's grasp.
blessin's to you,
You have truly defined the word "magnetism" with this write, Robert. No matter the differences of life, we are drawn to certain people and there is nothing we can do to stop what was always meant to be. Sometimes logic will tell us that there is so much wrong with the coupling but our heart and soul force us to jump headlong into the relationship. Your images are wonderful and your use of language so very profound. I like this...I guess it must appeal to my "odd" side as Nordette put it. Whatever side, in my opinion, this is awesome poetry.
Take care,
Sherry
I get backward blood. But that's caused by a valve defect in my heart.
I think Kate has said it all.
On one hand, this is heartbreaking. But on the other, it is a blessing because it just wasn't meant to be. You always write such rich, meaty, secret, spiritual, revealing, intensley emotional words.
Well, this is somewhat of a Big Bang write, Jude! Or rather, a Creationist's one... this has the very breathe of life in it and the energy teeming through that hotly flowing blood is like a lava-flow as it bubbles along... I'm with Nordette; it's kinda hot and "yeasty" (sorry, have got yeast on the brain today, so to speak!) In fact, I think it gives me vertigo! This degree of intensity that is so very visceral brings you to the height, perhaps, of your poetic prowess and takes us all along for the ride: passion obviously becomes you! Love the concepts of "Becoming one in diversity... Our blood Transfusing from the source of life's multiplicity"; life around you is never boring, Jude, that's for sure! Don't know about old Walt's "Body Electric", but the hive is certainly alive and electric, buzzing around these Leaves of Grass!:)) TY Kate xx
I'd love to know who this is about. Spacially sound. I love the traffic references that flirt with the notion of predestiny.
