~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I always knew you were the one
Who’d greet the rain
While touching the sun
Who’d part the sea
Where dreamers live
And offer hope
When few would give
I always knew you’d embrace the sky
When the earth was losing
Its will to survive
When darkness set its poisoned hand
Upon the wind and within the land
When life looked bleak
And death would sneak
Into the place
Where hearts are face to face
With the pains of tomorrow
I always knew you’d bring your soul
Across the stars
And into the fold
Of traveling minds
Growing in momentum
I always knew
You live inside
The electric fibers
Keeping us alive
With the joyous convulsion of love’s direction
With the fury to move into the heavens
I always knew you are there
To remind us who we are
An uplifting expression of eternal faith, Jude. An injection of hope amidst all the madness surrounding us right now. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love and peace to you.
Keeping us alive... With the joyous convulsion of love's direction / With the fury to move into the heavens... This somehow reminds me of the somewhat puzzling and perhaps perplexing Biblical statement that "The Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force"; I think it is because of your paradoxical language which speaks of a focussed and "go-gettin" attitude which, although soft and compassionate, is no less determined to overcome and achieve its end. Tis true... lukewarmness is anethema to God, who is vibrant and passionate in His will to conceive and create, I think. Press on, Jude... onward and upward... just when I think you have taken us to the mountain-top, you then set about constructing that Stairway to Heaven; Robert Plant would be pleased ! :)) Beautiful observation and appreciation of the verve and energy inherent in the spirit of the Creator and the Created in this loving write. It's warm intimacy somehow makes me read "here" instead of "there" in the penultimate line. Another breathtaking composition, delicately penned. TY Kate xx
This is like a Psalm. It is so beautiful in it's flowing rhythm. The message reaches out to touch God.
These are sobering times, to say the very least, Jude. You leave the door open for hope and future, which is something people seem to be doing less and less of these days. What has become of the morality of man? So many disappoint us all, their voice is loud. Fortunately the penetrating whisper of those, like yourself, who write about the higher ideals, can be heard above the rabble. I suppose it has always been simpler to choose not to be responsible, instead of taking control of our own life and destiny. People cry out for change, yet they themselves are not willing to evolve to a level that will allow it. Perhaps within that truth lies the ability for leaders to become so corrupt and turn their backs on their people. Excellent poem, Jude, the promise has always been there but we must remember how to reach for it and allow it to flow through our veins.
Take care,
Sherry
