Ditto Kate. I can't possibly describe how your poetry makes me feel the way Kate can. Her comments are poetry in themselves. When I read the first review in your book, I knew it was Kate before I turned the page and found out---it was Kate.
Erin is so right... in OUR world, yours is the only voice I know of that draws us all together in a universality of common feeling and experience on the one hand, and makes us feel individually touched and singled out, right in the core of our being, in that most intimate and personal way on the other. And the beauty for me is that, even from the very first breath of the first reading, I can hear your voice reciting it - just like Potent Sleep, Designing Thoughts, All The Heavens, Waiting Arms... and all the rest. Your voice and words are an unparalleled combination. And this is stunning; I have been totally intoxicated still by whatever was filtered into my veins yesterday, and now this makes me feel as light and airy as a fine sea mist rolling in on the wings of a coastal dawn! Put together with the fact that I have just crawled out from under me duvet to masochistically watch City of Angels again for only the second time, I am now in a state of neo-collapse! This seems a consummate Jude write to me; like you have heaped up the many waters of your heart and soul and poured them onto your beach of choice. Whomsoever's feet this most beautiful "message in a bottle" is designed to arrive at, it will be like the full force of heaven arrives with it. I think you invite many tears of awareness to fall from our open skies and onto your written words here, Senor... and I am slowly sliding off the page... ! :))

What a beauty this is, Jude. It sounds to me like a parent writing of their child when suddenly there is a recognition that they are just like us. We stood back and watched them struggle thinking they were on a path leading them away, only to awaken and find that they were running in our footsteps struggling to catch up and walk by our side. Whomever you write of, the bond is deep and a new layer has been added to the love and awe that you have for them. A most tender and gentle write, I really enjoyed this.

They say there are seven wonders of the world. When I was a child, I used to have a viewmaster with a reel of the seven wonders of the world. I was just fascinated viewing it. Upon discovery of you Jude, I am telling them (philosophers, astrologers, seafarers, and theologians) there are now eight. You are a pillar of timelessness.
