~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In my dream, I’m on a distant planet
With two suns superimposed over a purple sky
And long puffy carroty clouds
Stretched across a neon-blue horizon
I can see a tall, thin figure
Approaching me from the distance
Over burgundy sands
And mounds of translucent ambiguity
Like a mirage blurring its way
Closer to my proximity
It’s majestic yet hazy
Am I crazy to gesture it nearer
Do I really have a choice?
For it feels holy and bright
Like a captured star encroaching before me
It glows with hues of warmth
Yet its contours are somewhat familiar
It did not speak but I understand
What is is symptomatic of
In a viable gesticulation
It says “Hello”
And with a familiar sense of being home
I reply "What's up"
Aren't we all just mirrors of other things? Excellent, as always. I LOVE YOUR BOOK!
Jude,
Your imagery is always a pleasure and this is no exception! I like your last two lines...what else is left to say? Higher Self, Christ Consciousness, or perhaps, a soul from your original cluster...it works on all levels and interpertations. Excellent universal transcendence!
No choice. Jude, meet Jude..lol! What a dazzling dream with two suns burning bright. Careful of sunstroke, otherwise bask in the warmth of coming home! Beautiful images...Lin
the balance between the strange and wondrous sense of place in the beginning of this poem and the personable, down-home familiarity you achieve at its close are delicious perfection, Jude. thanks for this dream scene! Dawn
Makes me smile and think of Sir Elton: "Hello Yellow Brick Road"! this speaks of all things mystic and comforting to a child-like mind such as mine; the colour, the softness, the warmth, the love. I always find myself making eye contact with babies - just can't help it! I think they understand me better than most adults - can't think why?! :)) Ah, I've got it! It's the non-verbal communication; knew I was good at something. And HOME!!! What a thought. For me, that would have to be the place of absolute rest and equilibrium, instead of all this clanging about that I do. Ahhh... quiet and no words... so what am I sayin now ------ ----- -------- ------- --, ---- ------- -----,---- ----- --!! Whassup?! Aren't I makin any sense? Good job I got my return ticket stamped already, otherwise the tall, thin guy might be comin to review my visa. No mistakin my origins here, though, talkin about carrots and burgundy. OK, I'm goin... hope I haven't overdone it - can I still blame the anaesthetic? Did I mention that I would love to meet Eddie Murphy before I depart? :)) K xx
Funny how at times we seem to communicate. Where words are unnecessary. Somehow we just understand..
To find that little missing piece of ourself that we left behind is a wonderful experience, if only in our dreams. I love your colorful images, they burn into the mind of the reader as they are drawn even deeper into your verses. Excellent write, Jude!
Take care,
Sherry
A very good feeling and imagery. Yes, it could happen. Sometimes our dreams are quite real.
I have drawm a picture of Princess Elysia and Kyle landing on a planet with 3 suns (I think I had once posted it on my BIO's page); but no sooner had I drawn this picture, I heard from the news that they have just discovered another galaxy with 3 suns. Now isn't that a co-incidence? Why did I draw a planet with 3 suns? What struck me to draw that picture?
I'm certain somewhere in the universe, there is a galaxy with 2 suns as well. Your dream certainly means something.
Great thought-provoking piece!
The images you've created are lavish and so well penned, I'd say papable. What a dream. Here's my favorite: "And long puffy carroty clouds Stretched across a neon-blue horizon" What a site! Good work, Jude.
