A beautiful idea for a poem Robert...I love that thought of floating like a feather on the wind .When this life is gone I hope my spirit will do just that...lovely words always from your mind,I am so glad I stopped to read another of yours, beautiful ...beautiful!
This is such a rainbow write for me tonight - think it's the "life force of overwhelming possibility A fountain of blood and gold", which sends a searing burn straight through me, somehow. Streaming with a liquid pulse and energy, this gathers itself from the very first intake of breath, like Designing Thoughts. Another "prophetic" piece, I think, Jude. The conclusion totally blows me away, in conjunction with Sage's comments, as you can imagine! Mad applause for this one! :)) Yep, when we meet these - especially unpredictable - hurdles in life, the stillness of our calm gets a bit blurred, perhaps, like being ruffled by the winds. It then can seem like there is a membrane to burst through, between the "here and now" and the "what's ahead". Hmmmm, reminds me that I am ever the one to ignore road blocks and diversions, in reality. Must be the bull's approach again! And, as long as I'm not gonna be a Kandle in the Wind, I shan't mind! Visionary and embracing, thank you, LOL Kate xx

Your poetry always has an inspiring meaning. Your delivery always that of a true poet.
When the heart pumps wisdom the vision of the heedful observer
scan "Feathers in the Wind", and a message through the clouds
of humanity is released to reach the minds of the infant souls.
Even if we believed we could stop it, life would still be a forward motion. We do have choices to either remain behind and become stagnant allowing life to drip rancid rain upon us or leap forward with courage and the thrill of accepting the unknown. Life's journey should be savored, even the difficult times, that we can suck the essence from each event and apply it to what lies ahead. Sometimes it doesn't seem pretty, but it is always an adventure. To glide with no resistance in forward motion like feathers in the wind certainly makes things much simpler.
Take care,
Sherry
Many see the future but are helpless to change it. We have to move beyond our self doubt and inject ourselves with positive energy that can change the world.
Searching and striving for enough on which to make decisions.....
I like the observation, and the opportunities pointed out - plus the chance to leap over much of it. I especially favor your line: "A fountain of blood and gold," Why "gold" here ??

I have to agree with Allen, Jude! You always write beyond the realms of we mortals;-)(you know I'm teasing you;-)or am I? Funny how the wind can be so meaningful in our poetry, it was in mine tonight also.Your metaphor is always exceptional!
this stirs to inspired heights but also touches, at least for me, the deepest sadnesses we each carry. love the idea of choosing to place ourselves in the moment and the thought that we will move on, even when we seem to lack the strength of will or character to do so on our own initiative. Dawn

Loved the uplifting feelings this poem provokes. I was just thinking recently how interesting it is that some of the darker moments in our lives is often the step to the future we asked for.
This poem speaks empathy to me. The ancient gift of empathy is linked to extrasensory application of feathers. Feathers are barometers. When stroked, we leave our oils upon them and rearrange the filaments to make the metaphysical link and we can feel others' aches, pains and emotions through the feathers. The medewadji, Native Spirits stir the feathers in the wind and move on ... and so should we. Great write, Jude.
'Here, we decide what inevitable fate become us
By the stance of our reaction' ... there is so much wisdom in this line and throughout your poem! Thank you Dear Jude! Love Suzie xox :-)
