~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your words are honey:
Succulent, viscous
Dripping golden
Raindrops of fleshy thought
Oozing
Across a surface syntax;
Splashing
Animated visions into my eyes.
I taste a sweet design:
A pungent aroma
Inside harvested synapses,
Creatively twisting time
Attaching dazzling visualizations
Onto your inspirational frenzy-
The sun feeds your brilliance
The moon attracts your design
The planets spin wildly
To spoken atmospheres
Of your dynamic mind.
I lay on this bed of dreams
Where poetry is born
As bubbles of light
Grow from the imagery
Around your muse
Aroused by the defining form
You choose
Wondering if your words
Will ever decide to include me
I weep at the beauty and reverence of this piece; sheer brilliance, Jude. This feels like honied tears kissing my dessicated soul tonight... yes, I'm getting a bit frayed by this stage! This has intricate balance and detailed dovetailing - like all the delicate designs that interweave through creation itself; a Creator's blueprint. "Wondering if your words Will ever decide to include me" - what humility is this? To subjugate your own powerful muse to the penning of a mortal mind, inspired or not. And how can you ever doubt that, in some way, many of us are influenced in this particular "hive" of poetry by the work and muse one of it's masters, if not THE "Queen" (sorry about that, but there you go!)? We are all worker bees, dancing to the same tune; doubtless shades of "you" turn up everywhere! Bees are fascinating creatures; someone told me recently that the pheromones secreted and the intricacies of their "dance moves" can be picked up so accurately that, in this way, news of what's happening even on the other side of the world is known to them; that's how and what they are communicating. Well, that's enough from me, but I'm glad that you, Senor Prophet, are at least feasting in the same way and as well as John the Baptist as you speak out in the desert! I would ditch the hair shirt, though! :)) And, for sure, you will never find yourself alone! You certainly are at your most beautiful when you demonstrate how to "bow down" in order to lift someone else up... this demonstrates the spirit of true worship - worth-ship, and bestows much honour. This is much better for me than Ovaltine tonight! Settles me pre-op nerves! LOL and be well. TY Kate xx
You ease into a poet's conscience with this work and make him strive to do as well as you do so easiily. You know how to roll the words so wisely in a tapestry of creativity the rest of us can only hope to aspire to.
The first stanza made me laugh out loud in a rather bawdy manner, but as your poem progressed I was drawn into the depth of your words and by the end, left with a rather sad feeling for someone experiencing unrequited admiration. Beautiful expressive write, Jude, I could feel the awe and the wonder and I wanted to be there to make sure that the object of your muse truly knew your thoughts. With a gentle tug, you pulled me into this poem and I just wanted to curl up and live within it for a while. Another one for my library, thank you for such a wonderful read.
Take care,
Sherry
This drips with lusty nectars in a wax camp from the author who has caught a buzz high on the sky, home of Sol and Luna, Earth and Mars. Any one of these skylar abodes inspire me to take a trip to my local planetarium and pick out Jude's Muse. She's the one with the long dark hair to match his! Strings attached! What's that, a sitar she's playing! Jude, this is poetic skylar '60s Rock 'n Roll Honeycomb!
