~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
your heart is always exposed:
maintained by a passion for authenticity
resurrected by gusts of galactic wind
propelling poetic sails of inner fingertips
your dreams are always aflame:
engulfing the horizon
in a vast array of unknown shapes
and auspicious actions
this is how you move
through the matter of inspired motion,
like a particle of light
observing itself through a continuum
of possible spectrums,
probing the universal design within everyone
your major flaw or creative defect
is not accepting
that the world just doesn’t care
... just couldn't resist before packing off to bed again... creative flaw or creative perfection?! This is exactly what the "defect" exists for: to turn the world upside down, one person at a time. After all, what is the world but a totality of individual lifetimes - and these you can change, just by existing within them. Raison d'etre and cause celebre of those who refuse the status quo. Truth is truth whether you believe it or not; whether people care or no is immaterial. Seeking, holding fast to and upholding truth is absolutely necessary, otherwise we may as well pull the plug now. There is no other way. No such thing as standing still in compromise... if we are not advancing, we are in decline. Goody, off to pop a few more pills... night night xx
LOL...In all the years I've read your poetry I don't think I've ever seen you get pissed off at another writer. LOL...you are very good at telling someone to shove off. ~ Sara
I would be the opposite of this one. I remain too aware that nobody really gives a damn, accepting it too, yet hoping... ROFL. Oh, maybe the solution is not to give a damn either. Great, Jude!
I feel like you have taken a peek at my soul :-)
I don't accept the world doesnt care..........I fully reject it :-) I will prove with time the world cares :-) I am a dreamer but that is what brings in new realities :-)
oh my goodness...sublime perception. it always seems that maintaining an awareness of what lies within comes at the price of losing sight of the fact that what lies without is equally important...love the way that you describe this mode of being.
Excellent poem, Jude. You're right, the world does not care. That's why I seek to live "in" the world, and not be "of" the world. At the ripe old age of 61, I don't give a rip what the world thinks about me. Thanks for this enlightening poem, Jude.
ouch, ouch, ouch... I've been on a pessimistic spurt lately and the sinker you end with, albeit truth, is at the heart of all that I find most challenging and downright unsavory, not to mention dangerous for me, about this world. you hit a nerve, in other words. so if the world doesn't care then why the heck exert the energy it takes to move "like a particle of light?" and how to live any other way? feels like a quagmire-quandry to me. another bull's eye, Jude.
The world cares. Many people don't. But I'm thankful for the few friends I choose and am lucky enough that they remain my close friends.
Knowing that they do care.
Now take Mr Bush...PLEASE! And Mr Blair come to that..
Though it is true that many do not care, there are even more who don't know enough to care. Those are the ones you must maintain sharing your enlightenment in the hopes that some will begin to see that "inspired motion probing universal designs" is a beautiful way to become ever more enlightened and have a more meaningful life. Splendid poem as always Jude!
Eileen
Metaphorically, to me, this associates with the auroras. Particles of light,refracting from my sprite named Prisma, versed in auroral lore and legend of the Northern Lights. I perceive this poem to be as the auroras, their color depending on what gas they have hit and at what altitude they have flown in a hookup between the solar wind's energy and magnetic field of the sun and earth when the auroras peak, leaving behind a green ribbon and a rosy curtain. Prisma is flawless. Her universal design is to furnish everyone with a spectrum of colors. This poem inspires me through prisms, reminding me of a sliver chip I have in one of my prisms. I shall replace it so that she may not have nary a creative defect. Thanks Jude.
I believe that we should still do this even if the world doesn't care. We do it for ourselves and in the hope, that by chance, we may teach one person by example. We must be who we are and we must evolve in spite of the world we live in. It is true that most are so caught up in the craziness of the world that they become stagnant, but for those who can hold on to the vision and look beyond the sickness of the world, it is their duty to self and future to do so. Another excellent and thought provoking poem, Jude. Again I am amazed at the ease with which you place emotions into language.
Take care,
Sherry
