Poetry is an entirely independent and, sometimes, quite uncontrolable being... :0)... and Poets are entirely dependent of and quite controlled by this living thing that makes of them the extension, and of it... the core. Giving, indeed, birth to itself and then flying away... and leaving the Poet to make love in soliloquy to the source whence the next dialogue will be generated. :0) And so we write... and so it speaks.

You have spoken about the struggles between poetic and critical elements (both intelligence and imagination) during the whole writing process. A very philosophical journey, which is enigmatic and yet adequately revealing!

A voice from the poet's soul;
A laughter in the poet's words;
A joy from the poet to share;
A cry from the poet to be recognized;
A vent from the poet to be heard.

A creative way of expressing the process of creativity.
I woke up at about the time you posted this with a poem coming into being in my head, based on an image of the Times History of The World book front cover I see every day in my son's room; I "saw it" for the first time yesterday - a line of symmetry between the two juxtaposed, reversed out images of Stonehenge and NYC skyline, and it has somehow provoked similar ideas to these.... can't think why, in fact, but in my pictoral head these two separate entities seem to marry up... will be interesting to see what falls onto the page later. But this is an alpha and omega write, encapsulating the breath and concept of language and cognitive thought, word and spirit. A fine RJF masterpiece driven from the bowels of the earth and scraping the skies as p.u. Great start to the week! :)) TY Kate xx
I could picture this oozing out of your pours onto the page, words formed from your juices without the touch of a hand but by magic of your thoughts forming onto the page...pure poetry evolves...Wondrous Jude;-)...

Audience reaction to the written word is key. First, the inhibition of the words need free play of emotion. Human energy needs outlets.
Tomorrow's writing communities will need to provide a new backstage for its inner voice. With increased visibility of today's writers, professional listeners will find it profitable to provide backstage settings in the form of log cabin writers' retreats. Unless the writing community works together to evaluate the significance of the written and spoken word, the audience ends up in farce. This is my take on "Dialogue with the Inner Voice of Poetry."
This is what separates the masters from we peons, Jude. For me, it is merely a fleeting thought that, by some strange coincidence I manage to grasp, and commit to the page. Oh how I wish that I had your depth, that I could study my words before I write, but alas, I am but a simple-minded twit who dabbles in what she knows not. LOL..ahhh maybe someday!! Excellent unfolding of concept into written word.
