the Vanishing Presence of Serendipity

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know nothing
The wind is blowing my hair about my eyes
The sky is opened up so that I can see
Whatever
The sea is calm but the ripples are unsettling
I can see anything
But nowhere
The sand is flirting with my Nikes
Footprints are leading everywhere
Except around me
I know something, I think
The seagulls are hovering
The skunks are hiding in the underbrush
The trees are blushing autumn rainbow
I must be someone, hopefully
The sun is screaming
In bright tones of cherry red and yellow mahogany
Is there such a hue of tranquility?
I hope I can remember
Remember, the vanishing presence of serendipity
As I count my misfortunes
Nowhere
Serendipity has nearly vanished from the predictable poetry of the mundane. Fortunately those little seashore walks of insecurity have not dulled your wit of it.
This seems like the stillness that comes with the dawn of a revelation - when, irrespective of the temporal circumstances, the fact that certain things are as they are makes a profound impact on one's own sense and state of being. It's a state of consciousness thing - senses are highly tuned but concentrating on just the one thing that matters - the serendipity that has occurred unsought and left... whatever. In spite of a sense of quiet disturbance, there is much equilibrium and contentment here, I think. Even though the interpretive mind is perhaps dulled, the natural atunement with signs and symbols seems still to be uppermost (seagulls, skunks, trees). Perception is everything. All things happen for a reason. I like this "inside out" write that is full of paradox and which consigns misfortune to nowhere. A poem that explores awareness - which, for me, is what your recurring motif of "remembrance" is all about... 0119hrs and I'm totally rambling... somewhere.... Don't mind Turner: he hasn't a "hip" bone in his body; he's totally square... round in fact.... but cute! :)) Don't tell him I said so... LOL K xx
Your verses switch around likewild wind on the prarie; from one direction to the opposite you survey life from all points of view. Tight and fluid, this poem is both captivating and thought provoking.
Take care,
Serendipity here takes a double significance, like a shadow facing its own outline in light. A no-time no-space yet all-space all-time within a figure standing at the center of its own karma, where doom and blessing are the two brushes painting one outline. The absence in presence of the presence in absence, in a poem most definitely to remember.
This resonates with the echo of self analysis and where we sometimes have to find ourselves. In the lifes of today it is to easy to lose ones perspective and sense of unigueness that we all must have as individuals on this planet. Well stated my friend Jude.
I liked the ethereal imagery in this excellent poem. Poem is mystical, though the world you have casted is mutated, and not ideal, pretty much a real world isolatarian mind exploring a consciousness...
maybe possibly I might understand something about this clearly but perhaps not as my opportunity to grasp the sands slipping through my fingers has passed. what do we really "know" when we stand and simply are? the best we can do is hope to remember without losing ourselves in the finding of what was lost. fascinating topic. my kind of philosophical meandering with a purpose that emerges from ambiguity. have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Jude.
No helter-skelter applied here. This isn't for vacant eyes. This is purely Gestalt, living in the here and now! The Vanishing Presence of Serendipity is oriented awareness of self in relation to the world. Serendipity, where nature comes to us without us asking. A write like this can only be accomplished when isolated in meditation, apart from humans, written in solitare with only nature present. This is the upper tier of picture language.
