Mysterious Tears

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wipe a solitary tear from your face
From your smooth and sculptured cheek
I stroke the moon glistening off your skin
Waiting for you to speak
I am transfixed on your tongue
Licking the contours of your lips
And speculate on the essence of another tear
And the meaning of what you transmit
What made it form?
What made it so unclear?
Why am I mystified by the spark within your eyes?
And the reason for my calm
What brings us here?
We watch the lighthouse
And the stars reflect off the deep blue sea
Leaving me hopeless
Inside a glimpse of melancholy
It is as if I can catch all life’s conjecture
Inside the light of your distant smile
And wonder for a while about your hidden fears
And become lost
Within miles of your mysterious tears
Dear Jude,
This is so beautifully created, with a soft sweet sense of tenderness, a desire to understand, nurture and comprehend.
So delicately touching Jude... "And become lost
Within miles of your mysterious tears"
Thank you for sharing
warm hugs
Fascinated by Peter's take on this, cos all I see is beauty, grace and a selfless and non-intrusive yet deeply caring empathy, expressed by loving and gentle caresses of encouragement and support, notwithstanding the burning questions and puzzlement that persist in the Voice's own mind. As Debs says, the sense of ambivalence is strong and yet the "just being there" seems to be the main desire that transcends all verbal and non-verbal communication. Struck by the sense of unavoidable distance that such confusion creates - in both subject and author - and yet there also appears to be a kind of intuitive togetherness in that the pair are lost within it rather than separated by it. A write that speaks to me of companionship rather than lostness or aloneness. So reminds me of City Of Angels (any excuse, says Andy!) when Seth, the invisible Angel, is deeply moved and yet puzzled by Maggie's tears as she grieves the loss of a patient... Angels in the film are not supposed to be subject to touch or feelings. This seems to me a "soulmate" write, Jude. I find it very peaceful and soothing, inspite of its underlying uncertainties. There is a lot to ponder, who is the lady, or is it a personification of the world around? I liked the atmospheric feeling and the ambivalence for a reader...Imagery is spot on in this ethereal rendition. Great job, Robert!
Your words are birthing a poem within me; you inspire me so. It is as if the poet feels helpless before a reality he doesn't quite understand. Some times, we feel suspended between knowing and then not; some one we think we know, we look at the same lighthouse, the same light shines on us equally, yet each perseives it differently. Each soul, a mystery to the other. ~Carmen~
Oh my God, there you go again Ace! Question: do you have any brothers my sister can marry? This is absolutely SO into the feelings that I think most women want most in a relationship, friendship. . .shoot, even in a next door neighbor who cares about how they feel as a human. I get moved every single time I read 99 percent of your work (nobody's perfect), but you sure are close when it comes to penning muse!
blessin's, and thank you for this breath of hope that so many of us crave from one humdrum day to the next.
Incredible peace from an mind--keep the joy flowing,
mysterious, perhaps, but the one who sheds the tears and the one who who wonders why are linked by their focus on the lighthouse. sometimes that, and the wind that lifts their thoughts toward stars above, is enough to know, in a moment, of a lifetime and an eternity when tears shall be no more. a subtle, gentle and stellar poem, Jude.
You have created such a shadowy place where this person resides, Jude. It is as if there is but a portal from you to them and that through that portal, you are able to touch the flesh and reflect upon the emotions, but their essence and spirit lingers just beyond your reach. This is an exceptional and mysterious write...Great work!!
Take care,
Sherry
