Poem Artwork

A poetic avalanche covers me up
Freezing all metaphorical schemes
And allegorical associations of free-flowing expression

All I can do is whisper through the density of perspective
So my breath burns a minute hole
Into the crystallized fabric of my predicament

Permitting me to respire
Into the heavy purity of remaining animate,
At least for the moment

I am contained to my own movement

Only the outer ridge of my invisible presence
Recognizes my thoughts wiggling and struggling
To free my muse from becoming hard and impulsive
And from suffocating under the weight of my surroundings

Where the chilly quandary of suspended aesthetics
Deters my impending liberation

And only the impending forecast
Will assist me from remaining stiff and inconsequential
At least to my own thickening pulse

And my chances of exposure
Even to the most experienced hunters
Will still remain concealed

So I have a chance to rise up and wander
As my spirit is exposed
To the melting debris

Rub the flint harder between those two sticks we call legs and jump start the kindling! I am in a predicament myself, but it is the heat debris scorching me! I write on meat-wrapping butcher paper simply because it preserves nature-based words, then I freeze the paragraphs in the fall and take them out in the spring to thaw when it is time for her to read them, but for months now, she has not let me keep them frozen. They are scorching me and things are not at all like they appear. We all need to expose our spirits and liberate our thoughts. I just did this over the last few days. I am praying for snow in a reversal to cool off ... a heat avalanche covers me and it is snowing here as I write this!

Funny, I wrote a dismal little relationship poem on the same day you did this one - based on a clash of weather fronts. This has a similar hot/cold quality, the image (IMAGES, NOW?? From the "Never, never" man? :)) looking like lush tropical rain forest (wonder what makes me think of that?!) and the synapses, on the other hand, deep in some permafreeze crevasse. At least you should find space in that snowhole to be able to induce a thaw... out in this tropical sunshine with the rum cheaper than water, the non-stop socialising is the heat which is causing my Muse to stutter, stagger... and grind to a wobbling standstill... Wiggling and struggling into bikinis and wetsuits are the only order of the day here... sorry to rub it in... along with the SPF 25!! :)) Bet you´ve already found your gap in the ozone by now, though... Upward and onward comme toujours. Sante! K xx

For me, that was so consuming and real. This is a great poem

If the debris is melting, that means that better days are ahead! I think a lot of us have been going through this lately. Has something to do with the way the planets have been aligned recently. Good news is that the planets are now on the move, once again, in a positive direction.

Blessings of Love & Light,
Joseph

When you're out of sorts it's time to sort out why, and you seem to be doing just that with this brilliant poem from your unique perspective. Be well Jude...

your second stanza resonates so well. know what that feels like from recent experience of feeling trapped by debris and unable to see - or write - my way out of it. you will break free from it, Jude. a wonderful poem written from the meantime we're all trapped within from time to time. Dawn

We see the light, not so far from our reach, but something holds us back, our feet are stuck in the mire and we find it impossible to elevate, even our spirit, to that destination we wish to inhabit. Some days, we wonder if it is worth all the effort but when we consider where it is that we dwell when our feet are embedded in terra firma, the answer is clear; we must soar to reach our desired destination...but the wings are wet with the dew of veiled belief and it is impossible for us to experience liftoff. Cramped muse or cramped vision? Perhaps they are one and the same. Fantastic write for one who is out of sorts, Jude. This poem proves that from any state of mind, brilliance remains a possibility.
Take care,
Sherry

Jude,

I want your "out of sorts". Dayuum...this is beautifully penned brilliance! I get writer's block, NOTHING like what I just read comes out of my pen. Saving this one--thank you, MOST excellent!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Ahhh this one is uncanny in it's ability to portray the authours feelings and desires beyound the fabric of his own perspective. His muse is there but there seems to be describing an impediment that keeps writer and muse from breaking the bonds and writing freely.
