Dream Scene (z) ... Becoming the Dream

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In my dream, I am walking past a small child
Playing in a field of snow
He looks up at me with this distant glance
As though he is trying to read my mind
Then smiles and runs into a giant ice castle
Shaped like a pyramid
Towering so high into the sky
I cannot see its zenith
The howling wind, layered in rainbow snowflakes
Captures me and twirls me about
And throws me up into the air
Catapulting me through the membrane
Of a womb-like substance
I find myself on my back
Lying before a campfire
In the middle of a fluorescent cave
I can see the hieroglyphics
Of large burly creatures
Being hunted by astronauts
With spears in their hands
And floating next to them are women
Harvesting fields of maize
Outside a gigantic starship
I get up and wipe the cosmic dust off my pants
And shake off the colorful snow from my hair
And call out “anyone there?”
The echo of my voices gets louder and louder
So that I have to close my eyes
And cover my ears with my hands
And then suddenly – silence
As I open my eyes, I see a baby
Inside a papoose
Lounged over a saddle of a ashen horse
A beautiful woman holds the bridle
Her hair as white as snow and her skin is smooth
As a baby’s cheek
She smiles at me and whispers
“See the dream you are?
Now become it”
I awaken feeling as though I had just been born
Such mighty visionary lines, each of them laboring like pregnant light to give re-birth to the soul of a truly exceptional poet. A fantastic read and dream experience.
Now, that's a dream and a half. What are you going to do? Hurricane season isn't here yet, but you've run out of letters. ;-)
A Shamanic chameleon-like journey, reappearing across diverse, historical settings. You are acting out dialogues and mimed encounters with power animals in this dream. This is a cleansing of "pollution" dream. The snow is the catalyst for purifying the world's ills. Perhaps you are here to bridge the gap. The Dinka of southern Sudan, whose religion in some ways reminiscent of the Old Testament, say that the earth and sky were once very close together, but the human misdeeds caused the sky to move far away, so bridging the gap has become a problem. Dream Scene (z)...Becoming the Dream represents you as a shaman, traveling between earth and sky to bring about the moral salvation of humanity. Your array of poems posted here on Authors Den reflect a Higher Calling.
Though quite captivating, these verses had me reeling from a spin of motion as one scene unfolded and dripped into the next. A lot like a half-dream induced by some magical drug, one could nearly see the page breathing as the soul slid, as though it were skimming on smooth ice, into the next catacomb of the dream. This is an excellent surreal write, Jude!
Take care,
Sherry
All seems to suggest going within and aligning yourself with your higher purpose; cleansing, rejuvenation and purification; rebirth and new beginnings. There is a place of hidden treasure within you but the echo(memories)may be inhibiting you from accessing it. Just impressions, Jude. Love these dream journeys...Lin
I really enjoy the "mother" themes that show up in your poetry. This is an amazing fantasy, whether dreamed or imagined.
Reckon we is both deeply in touch with mothers who are astral travellers atdemo... love this "altered vision from an astral beach" and the way you sift through the archaeological dust of alternative planets and existances with the longing of a soul misplaced!!!! :)) Back to the future indeed. Gandalf meets Galadriel. Like the way that here, instead of using paradoxical metaphors and images, you use "straight" language and yet weave inverse paradoxical ideas. Past, present and future, this is Native European in touch with Native American; Stonehenge and New York agin. Yeah, I know, well not exactly, but that kinda thing; Adam and Eve from Genesis through Revelation; BC through AD... and yes, I haven't been sleeping... !! Perhaps the spirit of prophecy runs through bloodlines... Fascinating as ever, and this dates you back in those loon pants and the flowered headband of circa 1969...
