Inhabiting Space

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sometimes I feel like I’m standing
Right in the middle of the moon
I turn around and all I see is the depths of darkness
I look ahead and feel the warmth of a constant sun
I look up and see the memory of stars
And scan the surface of the orb on which I was born
Sometimes I wonder how long before I depart
Before the journey becomes dynamic again
When all the scenes I’ve enjoyed and all that I’ve endured
Become a blur in the motion of time
And when the energy in my mind
Rearranges itself and redesigns perspective
And when the dreams of man
Do not resemble the whims of mankind
Sometimes I remember how vast life is
And how deep love can be
And how I must never surrender
Probing every possibility
And never allow the inconsistencies of doubt
To tumble around the space I inhabit
Inhabiting Space does wonders on refreshing the tired mind. The subtle hint is a gleam of vegetation in infrared light, the red edge, an infrared image of a pine forest somewhere on the edge of New York viewed from the moon.
"Sometimes I feel like I’m standing
Right in the middle of the moon."
Funny, init, how we are so aware that we are travellers through this era of our being, bedrolls on our back (just come from Lin's page!!), and that is what makes us able to look both backwards and forwards - and apply it to the long-term perspective. Whilst enjoying all that is bountifully offered to us on this plane and cycle of the journey, it also quickens our appetite for what's ahead, in the knowledge that onward is ALWAYS upward!! :)) (Even if the path is downhill for a while, if you get me...) Anyways, doubt is a total no-no as, if given in to, there would be absolutely no reason to get out of bed in the mornin... Possibilities invite us out onto the High Road whilst doubts keep our eyes goin round in circles watchin the old worries tumble-dry themselves down at the Washed Out Landromat of life... Yes, I'm in whimsical mood this evening but I like Inhabiting this Space!! :)) LOL Kate xx
Dear Jude,
These are realities and facts of life, one needs to be open to changes and learn to adapt. Change is part of life, life is inhabiting space, though never allowing oneself to get too far ahead but just enough, to keep questioning and probing. Mind and thought provoking poetry Jude, beautiful write.
Warm hugs and love
It is humbling to be human,isn't it? Sometimes I feel like I am soaring into eternity in a colorful Hot Air Balloon, only to find that it is teathered in the reality of this time and space. The reminder that I must complete my lessons before I am allowed to advance, keeps me walking on terra-firma while funneling inspiration from the cosmos. Mind stimulating poetry, Jude.
Take care,
Sherry
This "space" we inhabit can be as circumscribed as a droplet of water on a blade of grass, yet as ample as a mighty river crossing the vastness of a meadow; as intimate as a cocoon, yet as exposed as a butterfly; the whole universe and the whole void and the whole vastness in between. And your poetry always makes me consider all this and much more, in wonder... with a start of recognition (and then, more wonder).
Hmmm, I wonder when your birthday is? I keep wondering how much longer do I have to know of life too. Time is really flying by now. I cannot understand why people insist on wasting their precious few moments on this Earth by destroying love, by embracing hate, power and greed. Such a shame. Peace to you dear Jude. Be well. ~ Sara
You never set out to do this, Jude (or maybe it's exactly what you wished) but these cuplets and I bonded... we blended.
It brought me back inside me. It was a place I've always retreated to and I'd not been there for a bit. Thank you. katy xox
Self inspection this morning, eh, Jude? Very nicely penned is this fighting-back-the angst and these lines spoke volumes, "And when the dreams of man / Do not resemble the whims of mankind"
