Burning My Eyes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wash my face in the basin
Musing over last night’s dreams
Moist like vapor
Baptized in the indifference of morning air
Drying my skin
In a reflection
Considering the passion of expression
In soap bubbles
I look to the east then to the west
Searching for a towel
Perhaps I should just have taken a shower
The soap burning my eyes
Swirling down the drain
Pain has it's uses. The sting is there to keep us honest. And "no more tears" is just copywriter's hype as many crying children can attest to. You know how soap bubbles multiply and divide(passion), then pop with verve? Such are dreams. But new ones take their place. Like this peice very much Jude...
The problem with looking for a passionate expression in soap bubbles is that eventually the bubble will burst. Hmmmm, maybe that is what you meant? LOL... ~ Sara
Towel?! Here, share mine... I prefer to air-dry in that hot reflection anyway... OK... I'll go wash my mouth out instead! :)) And Tiger Balm, recommended by my physio, is far worse on the eyes, I can tell you. But I like the directness of this - the voicing reminds me of the same oomph as that of Dreams Revolving Doors... or, in this instance, Dreams Swirling Drains! Also makes me think of Echo and Narcissus Narcissus Narcissus Narcissus for some reason... Clean and neat, thank you! Kate xx
The meaning of this though vague is lost on me but I certainly like the style and the image created as well as the word play. Dreams have a way of opening and closing the doors of our reality.
Jude, by a milder soap M8, then the dreams won't burn your eyeballs out.
I have to say this, Joe Walsh comes to mind, " The smoker you drink, the player you get" LOL, thanks for the chuckle.
Good to read you again...
I have had a long Sabbatical, now it's winter here, time to get musing again ;)
How is it that we can be experiencing such intense clarity and a complete lack of it, at the same moment. I feel, at times, like I am being dragged from the warmth and tranquility of my dreams into the stinging reality of a new day. Sometimes it takes a human moment to deliver us into the here and now of life and you capture this moment with great skill, peppered with the tang of humility.
Take care,
Sherry
The vision of you swinging soap on a rope in the shower makes my eyes burn! Your towel is on the brass oil-heated towel warmer. Moist like vapor, your muse has written Moods in Motion on the steamy mirror with her breath!
