Evolving My Own Orbit

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You propel your desires
Like a meteor in search of a target,
A sextillion miles away
Focused on achieving direction,
With little control
Over tempestuous headings
Of empty space
And stellar dust
You’re just cruising along
To your own momentum
The rhymes of spring fill your mind
With “delicacies” of hurricane season
The peace and tranquility of mountains and beaches
Are overrun by the hidden fury
Of tsunami tantrums
And the melting debris of avalanches
Unseen chasms
Fated to disrupt the landscape
Drowning in deep caverns
Hidden by the shore
The arena of hollow conquests,
Aided by the subterfuge of mislead allies
Orbits your magnetic pull
And to what purpose?
To reap what declines to be sown?
I admit
I simply don’t know
I will be content
Evolving my own orbit
Hi Jude, admitting we don't know keeps us seeking I think. Thank you for sharing this insightful write as I am seeking contentment in my orbit as well. Peace, blessings and gratitude. <Mikii>
I often wonder if you write from personal experience or if you are able to 'get into character' and write from varying perspectives. Whatever it is, you offer wisdom and insight that always inspires me.
WELL DONE Jude! The most honest thing a philosopher/seeker/human can say is "I don't know". Allows room, then, for infinite knowing.
Evokes kind of a die as in singular as opposed to dice plural, thrown by the hand in space, the numbers visible to the celestial prophet, but not to the non-believer of the cosmic blueprint.
is somebody hurling meteors in your direction, trying to knock you off course? stay the course. you're surely always evolving. enjoy the tone you used in this - gave me the feeling of the teeniest bit of a rail against inexplicable forces and resolved it nicely in the last four lines. Dawn
I like what Sherry Heim said, "Beware the Magicians and the Wizards, for they are most skilled in deception and charm."
GREAT write!
Going back to my fortress, and adding more gators to my mote.
Truthfully, we are all intended to be seeking our own way and not simply following others but alas, there seem to be leaders and followers and lately many more of the latter. It seems that the world is in a tailspin and if we don't forge our own way, we will be taken down by that momentum, caught up in the human backslide that seems to be occurring all around us. Beware the Magicians and the Wizards, for they are most skilled in deception and charm. Very perceptive write, Jude, may the light guide your path.
Take care,
Sherry
WOMEN! Don'tya just gotta luv us?! No wonder all things wind and combustion-powered are named as female. Yep, unseen chasms and unseen charms are fated to disrupt any settled and quietly-mindin-its-own-business male territory when Mariah drops by... She is, perhaps, a travesty of Mary, but surely all guys know that there is nothing more certain to bring out the overbearing maternal (!!) than a helpless guy who is out of reach?! Yes, the sun has got its silly hat on over the West Country for the first time in eoans and is beggin me come out and play... unlike Turner. I like this socratic and metaphysical conundrum and the humility displayed in aligning yourself with the rest of us who have no answers to the whys and wherefores of the reasoning of others. This has a very Casablanca feel, cept you would be walkin out the door in this instance as Doodaa is comin in... Don't forget to pack the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy in your intergalactic saddle bags... at least it will give you a laugh. And you and Marvin The Paranoid Android could have a good male chin-wag along the way...
OK this Free Radical's outa here... K xx
Yep, sometimes it's best to give up and go your own way and that goes for both parties. If this is about male/female relationships, then I have to say you're very male here. Men tend to turn off the love spigot first in genuine relationships, and when they do, the female will not get a drop no even if she's dying of thirst. Truly romantic love is ephemeral illusion no matter how much we poets claim otherwise. In fact, poets are known for becoming easily infatuated and thus break many hearts. Yeah, I'm in a mood this evening. I hope nobody suicidal calls me for help. LOL. Enjoyed the write, Jude. ~~Nordette
Took us on an orbit within the bad boys of nature, plus giving us a break with the more placid among them, i.e., "The peace and tranquility of mountains and beaches" and thank you for not presuming to know what the hell it's all about. Good stuff.
