~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sometimes the visible
Hides from being seen
Eyes absorb the motion
Too vague to comprehend
As I watch you
Strolling through the barren streets of our world
With your head up high
And an inner smile
Glowing from within your face,
I cannot help to speculate
What is going on inside your mind
Are you contemplating exotic new worlds?
Or are you concerned if your make-up fits your mood?
Are you reminiscing over last night’s dream?
Are you wondering if there’s anyone
Who can really see what's behind those eyes?
Touching your spirit
Recognizing the beauty inside
Sometimes the invisible
Stares right into your face
And only the voice will find its source
'Eyes absorb the motion' is very interesting. I think it's the word absorb. Thanks for letting me know you are there. I'll be reading.
Hi Robert:
This one is so good. Perhaps everyone of us should look more deeply into one another's spirit before we make false judgments. Thank you for this wonderful write!
I am reminded of a song...I'll keep it to myself for now...but the gist is the same in term of how we see others and how they see theirselves. If we can just see beyond the surface and get a glimpse of the spirit that glows or ebbs from within, recognize that which lies on the surface is only the shell of the being. Listen to the message. Cover your eyes. There is a life's story there and perhaps a heart longing to be noticed from within. Thank you for putting this into visible and tangible words...
Well, I don't know anything about make-up fitting one's mood, but the rest is a graceful waltz with Enigma's charms.
Always a pleasure to read your stuff.
Wow...why is it that your poetry always
makes me want to write the word 'wow?'
How insignificant that word is to describe
your genius Robert,yet,it's all I can write
because when I read you that is the first thing that
pops into my mind:WOW!
Best wishes always
from
Kay.
Wonderful write Jude. An encounter like the meeting of pebble with still waters...that leaves ripples that spread to distant shores.
Translucent in essence permits the Encounter to become visible. Jude, you have done a tremendous job as the inhabitant and onlooker, transforming the sphere of the female identity through conscious-unconscious, a phenomenal composite of body and psyche where the female monad converge as one.
Just the mere effort of pondering another's thoughts shows that you care and helps to unravel that cloak of invisibility.
Fascinating... the voice is invisible and yet is the blueprint, the thumbprint that carries the persona, the DNA of the whole, both physical and metaphysical. Voice has life and both goes out from the self and relocates to self, like sonar radar. It intrigues me that often we don't like or recognise the sound of our own recorded voices, and yet others think them to be "true" of what they hear of us; it is like we are "veiled" to the knowledge of our true self and image. I like this inside-out and outside-in voyeurism which paradoxically and poetically hits the nail on the head of much of our social psychology: our projected image is often totally exposed by the mirror of our own nudity invisibly held before us (often unwittingly) by some other person who knows us, mystically, possibly better than we know ourselves. You speak of spiritual alchemy here, I think; of life in the infra-red and ultra-violet; in the super- and subsonic. The sentiment of this sooo reminds me of the gorgeous Byronic "She Walks In Beauty". This is poetry that touches and connects, in spite of its spatial "distance" in perspective. The Encounter is thus interactive rather than purely observational, affecting subject and object equally. Superb writing, Jude; I'm with Turner! :)) TY Kate xx
As deep as this lady is she captures your imagination with a smile which in turn is passed on to us in your wonderful capture of her gaze. After reading this I contemmplated for a minute how many people I knew that really had thoughts and hidden dreams and were not just living day to day to get by not seeing the world around them...too many.God love the poets and dreamers.
Trying to breach a woman's thoughts is definitely not for sissies or the faint of heart. A woman's mind is as complicated and uncharted as is most of the Universe. But your efforts here on trying to invade the feminine mind are to be applauded, and who knows Robert, one day you may even succeed (giggles).
This is a wonderful poem Robert, and I do agree with everyone here too. Thanx for sharing this with us.
May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie
