~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Go ahead, feel me
Feel me through the cool night sky
And turn me
Across the pages in your eyes
Listen to tales of betrayal
And poems of love
Heed the songs of life
And the lore of death’s embrace
Go ahead, take a breath
Decipher the hieroglyphics
Of our unfolding story
Focused around the light
Of all dark and mysterious
Visualize the spectrum of words
Living through the motion
Of a voice in passion
Go ahead, touch me if you dare
Unraveling dreams in twilight
Allow me to stroke your mind
Where my voice may find a place to rest
Glad I clicked on this one, Jude. It's just so captivating, for the obvious ways ;) and for all the subtle layers and multiple meanings. Gettin' ready for dreamland tonight and can think of no better poem to have on my brain than "Voice of Passion, Resting." Will be back to listen to more in the new day. May your voice find its place to rest this and every night, Dawn
A poet's dare. a heart to share, to understand, to be aware, of subtle change in rhythum and rhyme, that makes a write transcend, time. Great write. Art
Commanding and yet ultimately vulnerable and laying oneself open to the interpretation and formulation of others... Only a love-bond does this - subjugates self to the moulding of a beloved - whether parent/child, lover-to-lover or, in a strategist setting, among team members. Shows great trust... and great security: seeing the Self within the framework of part of the "greater good". On a personal level, this reads like a lovers' knot of entwined fingers, where it is almost impossible to see whose are who, where one ends and the other begins, such is the duplicity of "feeling" and "touching". I just LOVE the ambiguity of "feel me", whether it is given or received. The development of personal relationships is indeed like a glorious unfolding or unravelling. The desire for deeper closeness and intimacy that speaks of the rest of "finding home" is heartbreaking in your words... at least, perhaps, to those of us of a restless, searching disposition. Fantastic confidence in this Voice. And like that it is "in Passion" as opposed to "Empassioned"... a subtle difference. As I've said many times before, nakedness becomes you... in the intellectual/emotional sense, but of course! :)) LOL Kate xx
Great symbolic imagery here Jude.
And also the, less than subtle, invitation to delve deeper and understand what is not readily understandable is provocative.
"Deciphering the hieroglyphics of our unfolding story" certainly describes well the complicated rivulets of thought and feelings that can, and do, define relationship and interaction.
Well done
This poem reminds me of that quick glance that we have with someone we have never met before, or at least have no recollection of meeting; but the burn from connecting with their eyes leaves the soul feeling naked and their presence in every molecule of our being. The connection-we know that they felt it from us also...like a plug to a socket, the electricity is undeniable and for that brief moment, we know that all of our secrets are revealed. Strangely, we usually walk away but it takes some time for the captivation to wear off. Excellent writing, Jude.
Take care,
Sherry
These lines encompass the true meaning of reaching out. We do not reach out at first with the hands but with the mind and as a bond forms between minds it may progress to soul, to heart and yes then to bodily needs and desires. Well thought out and presented my friend.
I feel I have just found this on a glyph in Lascaux. A Voice in Passion, Resting, a feat impossible without scaffolding and ladders to produce this complex cave poetry difficult to view from just standing on the cave Den floor, especially by the pale light of the lead poet's tallow lamp. The yellow, red, and black ochre outlined in manganese oxide pigment gives us the scholar Jude of the time associated with this passage perhaps at the site Lascaux in the Hall of Bulls and Chamber of Felines.
We do make love to each other don't we? Passion, indeed! Touching each other even in silence. Our voices find a place to rest as soon as we post our visions. Love the intensity. You are totally unique...
