Love Decomposing in an Endless Night

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A heart broken by its own accord,
Looks at the world from distorted little pieces,
Through a tainted kaleidoscope of fear and doubt
It cringes at the thought
Life is embellished by the light of the living
And not by mislaid dreams or hopeless meanderings
Scripting the soul with sorrow and gloom
Too long it has managed to survive
In a net of prefabricated emotion,
Skimming over the smooth contours
Of clarity and reason
Becoming the ironclad bottom of a vessel,
Running into jagged reefs of credibility
Refusing to sink into depths of its misery,
Its skin is much too thick
With righteousness and self-preservation
This is its hell,
Its refusal to accept the inevitable,
Residing in an unforeseen setting
Where dreams crumple into ashes,
And voyagers fail to reach shore
Where a worn and exhausted fire
Cries into itself
For it has given up trying to rekindle its dying flames
The heavens are opened up
To this heart
Yet it refuses to feel the wind and see the sky
It has been blinded
By its own indifference
Truth
Now synonymous
With love
Decomposing in an endless night
Gosh Jude...I find a piece of me in this...complicated sadness..incredibly chosen words that magnify the emotional devastation. But there is incredible romance in this expression of sadness. Beautiful Jude.
Becoming the ironclad bottom of a vessel,
Running into jagged reefs of credibility and the worn
and exhausted fire stanza are particularly inspired, to
my way of thinking. As always, brilliant insights are
woven through a colorful and intriguing tapestry
that could only have been created by robert Jude forese.
Gratefully, Phyllis
Unprecedented, Jude. You have one of the most powerful grasps on the human psyche, that exists in the Den. I admire your gift very much.
This one's a classic. Vividly describes the hell those that cling to lost love go through when they won't let go.
This beautiful, introspective collection of thoughts slides
across the senses like warm chocolate on the tongue. You are SO
good at this, Jude! That last line, especially, is absolute splendor.
"Looks at the world from distorted little pieces" is certainly a line that I can totally relate to Jude. Too often I have been in that miserable land, and sadly I have put myself there of my own volition.
I agree with Eileen, this has somehow found another level in your poetic expressions!
Your quill was dipped in profoundly magical ink here.
I am awed by this vision, "For truth is now synonymous with love decomposing in an endless night." You are indeed a Master Poet, I bow to your pen. This is indeed and exquisite piece. <Mikii>
Wonderful use of the English language, Jude. Endless, wishful thoughts of love that cannot be. Lying there, staring at the ceiling, the narrator can't help but start feeling sorry for himself. Love decomposing . . . Indeed.
A masterpiece of a write that pieces together all the ragged and disjointed parts of life to make a complete whole..
Infinity beckon to those of us who can rise above the cares and distractions of the day, to grasp the nettle of true living...boldness and courage are the prerequistes of the successful and intrepid explorer !
