Dream Scene (bb) ... Milky Way

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In my dream, the sea transforms
Into a giant bowl of milk,
So I sprinkle some cerebral cereal
Upon the surface of its wholesome waves
Snap-crackle-pop
The sound of lip-smacking thought is so gratifying
I can almost taste it
I’m looking through
A two-way mirror in the sky
Almost feels as though I’m about to be interrogated
By some transparent image
Superimposed over my reflection
My attention is diverted
So that I can just about make out
The faint outline of a body
Moving into the sun
I wonder
Just who’s looking at me
Across the horizon of my dreamscape?
And whose body is ascending within me
And surrounding my focus
Perhaps some greater being
Come to milk my thoughts
Perhaps it’s my lover
Peering into my eyes
As I sleep
This is all about distraction. It's a collage of a mirade of thoughts without a plot or direction and we all have moments like that. well done!
I love the surprise of the dream...and the intensity in the combination of lover's eyes, greater beings, and a talking sea of cereal..metaphor of the universe. This errily reminds me of the experience of waking from a dream seeming so real that the eyes opening experience are the same as the dream, even the face in clear dream's view until eyes are finally focused and the face has transformed...
Interesting that you have felt the presence of someone watching your dreams...........I awoke from a dream recently....at least i thought I had, and became aware of someone by my bed...not sure exactly what this strange image was or its purpose for being there, then I truly did awake feeling a bit strange about the whole thing, and yet in ways I cannot explain I felt a sense of peace about it. It seems when we dream we travel in similiar universes :-)
You have a way of using words meaningfully and thus you mesmerize the reader, Jude. Truly, I mean this as a respectful compliment. I can never read your poems just once and "get it." This statement is also meant as a compliment. Thank you for sharing your creative gift. Love and peace to you,
Good to see that old Starship Fantasy sailing in on the morning tide, Jude! Fresh and fruity. It's good to catch the tone of gentle amusement in your voice. And to know that, even when sleeping, your antennae are on full alert to both the focussed and peripheral vision. Who knows what Presences visit us in our dreams, but as long as they leave us feeling light and smiley, guess we can be grateful. If you've fallen asleep out on a park bench, then it might well be the Park Attendant shining a light in your eyes... but he might well be some Greater Being anyway, who knows?? :)) For some strange reason, this has shades of both The Body Poetic and Ageing Inside Your Words in it for me... perhaps because of the playfulness. Should be just the weather for Fire Island this weekend, I reckon! Have a good one! :)) LOL K xx
Jude . . .
You have a mind that transcends reason. Your creative neurons and brightly flashing synapses never cease to amaze me.
I have to ask - please forgive - did you see all this in a bowl of cereal?
Your constructs always make me appreciate how diverse and wonderful human beings can be when they choose to enrich the lives of others with what they have been given.
This is quite an astonishing dream of surreal and metaphysical value, Jude..
My dreams are generally multi dimensional and faceted, with varying fragments of mystery and intrigue..
Keep on dreaming master poet !
I think you have an interesting poem in the making. No need to analyze. It is crystal clear with a hint of narcissistic reflection... but then that's why we are artists and we like ourselves we project same.
Whoa, Jude! As always, you blow my mind! But YOU tell me, how interesting is THIS? I had a nightvision last night, that was eerily close to your description, at least spiritually...no bowl of milk, mine...rather, a saucer, PRESSED INTO the sun, mostly hidden in clouds; "THEY" WERE WATCHING, WATCHING...then, suddenly, BLUE NEON OUTLINES OF HUMANS WENT TUMBLING, AS THEY WERE LITERALLY BEING SUCKED RIGHT OFF THE GROUND - AND INTO THE "SPACESHIP"! The LORD stood off to my right, and said, "These are they, which I have shown you in the Past, Child - the Demonic Chariots." It was a rough night!
bless you Jude...and, sleep well ` rhonda
This one is a keeper. I'm a fluid fish and the thought of the ocean as a bowl of milk with all the cereal popping is like a huge school of fish. Love all of this one.
