~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You can probe into an idea
And make it appear reasonable
You can seize a moment
And mold it to be credible
You can entertain any belief
And proclaim it feasible
You can clutch life’s provisions
And hope they’re retrievable
You can know
Whatever your heart desires
But can you experience
What your mind implies it's aspiring to?
Thank you Jude, because the last 4 lines are so true. and I can't say more than what Sherry and Sage have already said here. But I will just say that this is a very well written and heartfelt poem.
Fertilized by the infusion of new ideas, yes you can experience what your mind lends its cog to aspiration...but it is the heart that will first let you know aspiring suitable outlets for fulfilling its function, perhaps the time for launching an aspiration journal...
We are all guilty of manipulating our wishes into the defining structures of our lives Jude, and much of what we believe is based upon faith and what has worked for us in our past. There is no right or wrong way to experience or achieve our aspirations, we all just need to find our own way to evolve into what we want to become and live our lives by the moral code we have set for ourselves. This one kind of slaps the haze off of our beliefs and forces us to re-evaluate where we are and where we wish to be.
Take care,
Sherry
Becoming the dream? I suppose that's what realization is. An inventor has a concept and creates from that. We're all creators. I don't think there are limits except those imposed by others or ourselves. But are those real? Guess they are'nt if you can "talk the talk AND walk the walk". Litmus test. Worth the pondering, Jude.
I can hold the rock and feel its smoothness, and I can study the external color and faint striations left from exposure to heat and cold - but I can never see the inside of the rock until I break it open, and then only one plane becomes visible.
There is a compelling mystery in aspiring to become tomorrow!
Tee-hee, Monsignor Forese... Gotta luv this mind-expanding soliloquy! So which end of the umbilicus are you talking to?! :)) Your voluble couplets and end-rhymes bring out the Shakespearian voice which, as ever, seems to embrace and unite all you address here on page as well as potentially yourself. Very dramatic with its power-pack. Your delight in language and conceptual thought (blah??!) shines in this one and fully demonstrates the skill and fervour of The Wordsmith. In another life, perhaps you were an Advocate, whose fluency at bending words to shape idea and truths changed the ways in which people perceive things. If you can't experience what your mind implies it's aspiring to, you can, at least, succesfully blend the aspiration to fit the experience... and perhaps that is one and the same thing, in the hearts and minds of those who "think therefore they are". Echoes of Freedom's Heart here, I think. Could play with this one all day, like a dolphin with a ball, but this is quite enough blah from me... :)) Love it! TY Kate xx
What a thought provoking write, but as usual I always get something of value from your writes dear Jude.
Now as for experiencing what my mind implies it's aspiring too, well that largely depends on how far out I aspire :) Sometimes it's just way off the track, other times, it's a goer.
Yep, it all depends, for me anyhow.
Ta for the mental stimulation M8
there are times when it takes great courage to experience your mind's aspirations. and there are times when the thought of exploring them is simply seemingly impossible. Perhaps it is often unfortunate that we only see what we want to see...molding, as you said, rather than truly immersing ourselves in the reality. I'm stoned on Benadryl, so if I've totally misconstrued (sp) this, please forgive me!
Ah, that then, is the eternal question, my friend, learning to decipher what wisdom is within us. If we could but assimilate our thoughts and not have them cluttered with the dfay-to-day grind of "getting by," we might be surprised at how well we do in life and how peaceful that life will be. Good poem, Jude, made me think.
in some way and in different approaches, it seems we are on the same "wave" today, dear Jude. like in my own text, I read, in this short but so very eloquent one - magnificently written, as always - the same or a similar sense of dissociation between levels of the being, between subconsciousness and feasibility in consciousness.
such are the fragments of what really configures the whole in us.
Dearest Jude,
This is extremely powerful, a fantastic thought provoking piece.
I live by the philosophy...
"You see things; and you say "Why?"
But I dream things that never were;
and I say "Why not?"
~ George Bernard Shaw ~
perhaps a little naive, but as long as one can dream...
Warm hugs and love
