Isolation is Everything

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Either when strolling down a crowded city street
Or walking across the beach alone
Either when hanging out in the cubbyhole security
Of a familiar neighborhood
Or releasing our minds
Into the depths of an unfamiliar galaxy
The inevitable happens
A state of flowing into oneself
Releases a sense of non-identity
Yet discharges a shape of becoming
A situation where the entire universe
Adheres to your thoughts
Yet fills you with the realization
Nothing really matters
They are some who say, there is a cosmic audience
Listening and watching
Our actions
That we are never really alone
And part of a greater design
There are some who say, there is nothing but chaos
Filtering through the stars
That omnipotence is simply focusing
On the absoluteness of an ancient explosion
Expanding without consciousness or purpose
Aren’t we just coexisting polarities
Growing into our heaven
Subjugating our hell?
Surrounded by everything
Controlled by nothing
Motivated by our own isolation
Enjoy your thoughts as you share them with us. I too ask questions and do not always need the answer. Isolation is a beauty that few understand.
I feel so much in flow that I can rarely hold the essence of myself together at the best of times... perhaps that's why I struggle with a sense of the knowledge of personal identity. However, it seems to matter not cos I DO feel a tremendous sense of being "in" everything whilst yet set apart... solitude is an ABSOLUTE necessity to my sense of well-being and equilibrium; it enables me then to go on and fully engage when I AM "in community" - which is THEN when I fully understand who I am.. if that figures?? Probably not!! :)) I think the experience of having the entire universe adhere to your thoughts DOES have the effect you talk of, because the "nothing" that usually preoccupies our tiny finite minds "down here" is absolutely that when compared to the infinity of the cosmos... On the other hand, EVERYTHING matters because nothing ever happens in isolation. There is design spiritually in every physical thing that happens on earth, I am sure. And yes, we are all "Growing into our heaven Subjugating our hell" whatever side of the philosophical fence we choose to sit: chaos or divine order. We do that personally and in isolation, and yet in concert together - an orchestra playing the most rapturous galactic symphony, if you will! :)) I think we are possibly as much sorrounded by nothing and controlled by everything, on a "bad" day, as we might be "in control" on others, depending on our "spiritual" index. And "Motivated by our own isolation" we most certainly are; that place where we can be deeply in touch with ourselves in order to figure out "what it's all about". But even islands need the company of the sea in order to define where the one starts and the other ends... in order to understand what is "self" and what is "otherness". I think there are no "isolates" in the natural order of things. Life is designed to be relational and for every force there is an equal and opposite force. Laws of cause and effect and all that, countertensions. How have I got HERE?? Have no idea. Sorry - this reads like bullet points... or just so much rabbit droppings...!! :)) Your bouncy castle of life seems pretty crowded to me, Jude! Guess you've probably slipped out the back by now... LOL K xx
It all makes us feel as big and as small as we really are, doesn't it Jude. I feel that I am one with everything when I release control, but in my day to day, life seems a very solitary experiment. Nice words...forces thought.
Take care,
Sherry
Yes. And it is that isolation that kills our souls. That drives our fire. That makes us yearn for more. Yearn for a connection to even a single other person. Excellent poem. ~ Sara
Jude . . .
Your are a glowing proponent, or scratcher in the dirt, of existentialism in this one.
A thought!
If everything is corruptible in the physical, and subject to thermodynamics in its relationship to one another, and nothing is corruptible in the spiritual, if the physical is a mirror of the spiritual which is perfect and everlasting, and everything physical is finite, it begins it ends, coming from seemingly nothing and returning to seemingly nothing, then why does most of the human race, in all of its colorful disagreements and distinguishing features seek a higher power to quantify its existence?
Free will is a powerful sword to wield! It can embrace as an innocent child or relentlessly question everything.
In reality we are surrounded by everything, ( i.e the Spirit realms, good and evil, and humans, and all of creation) but we controlled by nothing...that is except our will to exercise that free will.
For a person such as myself who is a christian, I believe I am tempted by evil, but I choose to follow that or not, I am guided by the Holy Spirit, whom I choose to listen too or not.
So in essence Jude you have captured the truth of how we are surrounded by everything but yet controlled by nothing!
Incredible wite, TY Jude
PS. Mind you, I dont mind telling you, It's nice to know that I have my guardian Angels surrounding me :):)
Absolutely. We are one unto ourselves. We look out for ourselves. We are our own best friend. I see nothing wrong with that. The theory that no man is an island is a little misleading. Of course we are our own particular islannd annd we strive for, pray for, work for, and desire our individual island to be happy, properous and long life.
You sure make me think, Jude. I tend to go along with your thoughts on this one. You're one "heaven" of a poet. I could have written "hell" but that's so overused. Love and peace to you with respect,
An "ancient explosion" allright but not expanding without consciousness, for it was in our minds. (Let's meet for coffee). I'll just say that this is a perceptive and profound spark of individual consciousness...
Mind meanderings and suppositions all very deeply considered. However if your really feel this,
"Aren’t we just coexisting polarities
Growing into our heaven
Subjugating our hell?
Surrounded by everything
Controlled by nothing
Motivated by our own isolation "
Don't you negate the need to answer your prior questions, and especially for any need to have a relationship with anyone outside of yourself?
