~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s strange how some can believe
To know someone so well
They can believe whatever their heart desires …
You, observing me sitting on the dock
Not far from you
As the moon lights up the jetty
Looks surreal but comfortably steady
Gazing at the moon
My thoughts juxtaposed
Between cool breezes of Montauk
And solar winds of the Orion constellation
Wondering what the hell I’m doing
Trying to spell out the nature
Of archetypal visions
I’m inhaling
From across the synaptic sea
Superimposed on waves
Rolling onto shore
I must be kidding myself?
Do you really think I believe you
When you tell me you care about their origin?
Or understand their significance?
You, sprouting the wings of pious persnickety
Encircling a globe of your own convictions
Not that I’m special
Or have some divine connection with the stars
But I’m open to all possibilities
And don’t preach the dogma of counterfeit heavens
I simply ask you to be sincere
And mean it when you tell me to go f*** off
Then you’ll be talking the language
I’m humbly grateful for
We often wonder if people truly understand what we are sharing. the way they react often tells us where they are sitting. Love the ending!
You have no humility with words. You use them to yours, and others great self content.
FUCK OFF JUDE..sorry tourettes.
After many decades searching, reading the greats, from the New testament up, they all sing the same tune, even now if you listen and read the correct wise men of forever..
An easy start is the works of C S Lewis, St John of the Cross, or in NYC the great NVP..Or Tozar.
You know where the truth is...But courage is what it takes, when one changes a life of dogma thoughts fromthe god commerce.. Get all the $ you can then die....
What real man believes that...TRUMP?
Haven't seen this side of you in a long time, Jude! Nothing worse than finding out someone you thought well of is a phony!
a loaded gun of a poem, Jude. I personally know the pain and endless, maddening frustration created by people who literally have no --- clue how to be sincere and honest even when what they wish to convey is go --- off. so I truly get where you're coming from and where you went. I am beginning to believe that a genuine spirit of honesty truly is a gift of enlightenment and not a capacity all people share. Dawn
There are many who will tell us what they believe we wish to hear simply to remain in our good graces. We are wise to evaluate those persons as a whole and draw our own conclusions as to their motivations. In the long run, their true colors will show and if we chose not to be observant early on, we will be slapped with the cold realities later on. In our search for honest people we will come across many who have no idea what that word means. This poem is a bit more pointed than your usual offerings, Jude. You usually leave room for the reader to flex and draw their own conclusions, but in this piece, you go straight to the point and leave no space for subjective thought. Great offering!
Take care,
Sherry
VEry unusual ending for one of your works my friend but one that really in this case closes your statement and story well. From the mental plane to the physical one in two words or less. Kewl.
Shallow and deep, opposites attract, yet rarely have enough in common to want to get to know each other. If you're too deep they will say you like to argue and lecture. Most people refuse to try to understand anything beyond themselves, fortunately they are versed in
the use of expletives to explain the way they feel, so that those of us who do try, can better understand them. Well said. Pierre.
When we see beneath the veneer and superficialty
of vain and shallow people...then we know its time to walk on....
Well said !
There is nothing worse than feigned affection/understanding etc in this life, it's the real deal,or no deal.
Without preaching here ;)All relationships, whether with humans or with the greater power, always present good fruit, by NOT telling a person to go FO! Truth and love is a constant when it is the real deal, and you can't mistake it.
Be blessed Jude
