Dream Scene (cc) ... Battle Royal

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In my dream, the clouds
Are racing across the sky
Like a fast motion montage,
In a 3D panorama projection
Archetypal shapes
Superimposed on the horizon,
Reveal patterns of cobalt, crimson and orange
In the distance, a succession of mushroom eruptions
Ominously loom into the sky
As a herd of horses
Stirred by these detonations
Gallop toward me
Riding on their backs are skeletal creatures
Whose flesh is melting upward into the sky
Their tattered arms raised in the air
Clenching fists in defiance
Their voices
Like a thunderous hum of oppressed emotion
Cling to an atmosphere of condensed fear
Strangely, I sense no alarm
Or semblance of detachment,
As the mounted horses
Traverse into my flesh
Passing right through me
Easily I awaken
Surviving the battle royal
Sweating, exhausted
Strangely feeling at peace
It's amazing how that works...how once you no longer fear, the fear just moves straight through you....and you remain unscathed
The strength of Dream Scene (cc)...Battle Royal, is in your mane of hair, Jude! Perhaps you are the reincarnation of the equine mount who will guide us with a new blueprint of peace from the skeletal remains of the gray doom of the apocalypse. You have good hold of the reins with this one, Jude...
Fabulous fantasy. I like the mythological trappings. It reminded me some of classic Greek theater. COOL!
Getting charged up with inner horse power... Indains have these type of dreams too..
Though -Battle Royal! MacDonalds have food called something like that.
Hope it's not horse meat...
I get the feeling that you enjoyed the way you were able to manipulate the outcome of the dream so that you are actually relieved to finally be finished with the worries and horrors
of war! A poem of superb composition!
Vividly nightmarish, Jude...and technicolor dreams. I would have been writhing and wimpering in my sleep trying hard to make my self wake before the horses plowed through....but the passed through you in your dream...unusual but powerful...definitely worthy of the sweat! Commanding write Jude...awesome imagery...I'm in a panic just reading!
Taylor
Sounds like a vision of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, taken from the book of Revelation.
And yah and amen to what the Reverend Trappernicus quoted below.
It is good though to wake up still sane, and peaceful, after visions like this.
A wonderfully intense and visual write Jude. This conveys a feeling of hope, and moreover, the peace found after the conquest over the demons we all face now and again. Great write.
The Bloody Apocalypse, and you feel at peace. Wow. Perhaps we'll all feel better after it's over. A most captivating piece, Robert.
Dream on, Old Man!! Gotta luv Rev T ... is he any relation to Booker T and the Wotnots?? Well that's bin and gone and dun it... we've incited you to unearth this Treasure Trove and look wot we got... Hounds of the Baskervilles pounding the Gates of Hell bringing out the Macbeth's Hags in all of us... and you just wakin up with an appetite for a good breakfast as usual!! :)) Must be all that Royal Jelly on your table. And, since I'm in this kind of mood, can tell it's Friday without even lookin... You are such a survivor. All this reminds me of a coupla Neil Young songs rolled into one... but maybe that's because there's a swinging weekend folk/rock festival taking place on a farm down the road from here. So I'm cuttin loose to Yasgers (??) with the nearest Southern Man... Apocalypse Later, thanks xx :)) LOL Knightmare Kate xx
Wow is a good word to describe this. And I agree with one other post. I’d be running in the opposite direction if encountered with such a dark and menacing revelation. Though most my dreams these days do seem just as dark and threatening…
It does remind me of a bible quote…
'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.'
